TWO PRIVATE BUSES COLLIDE AT CUNCHELIM INJURING 22 PASSENGERS

PANJIM: Two buses plying on the Mapusa-Siolim route collided on Tuesday morning at Cunchelim injuring 22 passengers. One passenger, Rubertina Britto, 54, a resident of Rai-Siolim, was admitted at to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, for treatment.
Investigating officer Damodar Pednekar said the accident occurred at around 8.15am when a bus proceeding to Siolim reached Cunchelim and driver Jaywant Markolkar lost control and dashed against another bus coming from Siolim and proceeding towards Mapusa.
Police have recorded the statement of bus driver-cum-owner Jalandar Gaonkar and registered an offence against the driver of the bus proceeding to Siolim, Jaywant Markolkar. Mardolkar has been arrested under Sections 279, 337 of IPC (rash and negligent driving). He was later released on bail, Pednekar said

  1. Both the bus owners must have phoned their respective Miniters/MLA's and now the battle will be resolved  through them after a  dozen phons calls to the cops.

    This is the order of the day
