OLD GOA: Old Goa police has arrested two youth in connection with a theft incident that took place at a factory in Corlim, Tiswadi taluka, on Monday. Both the arrested are migrants from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Old Goa PI Francis Corte said that a complaint was lodged by a company official of Cross Fire Corporation Factory, stating that equipment including two LPG cylinders, two cutting sets, an electrical cable and a welding cable, all worth 46,000 were stolen from a jeep parked in the factory premises.
Acting upon the complaint, police questioned two youth, Daneesh Khan, a native of Bihar and Manne Chauhan, a native of Uttar Pradesh, who were employed in the same factory.
After finding preliminary evidence, police arrested the two and recovered the stolen equipment from a house at Dhulapi-Corlim. A case of theft has been registered under Section 279 of the IPC and further investigation is in progress, police said.
