Goa is reeling under a host of serious issues due to a government that has become dysfunctional and apathetic to the people’s concerns. The Aam Aadmi is raging with fury and disgruntled. Almost every decision taken by this government over the last four years has either been kept on hold by the government if not stayed and quashed by the Courts.
In the background of this grim reality the Government is co-hosting a two day Global Goans Convention in London beginning July 22nd. Today every overseas Goan is aware of the happenings in his motherland. We have had enough of conventions. The time for mere talk has long past. We need some concrete action to salvage what remain of this once beautiful Goa. What purpose will it serve deliberating on Goan issues overseas. The nitty gritty issues are known to all and have to be resolved here. But the Government does not have the will or spine to act and pull Goa out of the woods.
The London bound Goan entourage led by Commissioner for NRI Affairs Mr. Eduardo Faleiro including musicians, singers and folk dancers will do what they have been doing best over the last five years. This time only the destination has changed. Earlier it was at Kuwait, Toronto, Qatar and Lisbon. This year the eating, drinking and making merry at the cost of the State exchequer will be at London.
Mr. Chief Minister, how does your government have the audacity to be celebrating in London when the atmosphere in Goa is of gloom and doom? The law and order situation is alarming. About the maladies due to the illegal mining and the other glaring illegalities of your Government, the less said the better. Corruption under your government is at its very peak having overtaken the Himalayas. It is an irony that after 50 years of Liberation Goa has to gear up to be freed again.
I was in the High Court yesterday and today. I know how you and Norma Alvares are fighting the core issues facing Goans. The Arseholes (sorry menino there's no other apt adjective to describe the Digu gang). have totally sold Goa. Digambar and company should at least one day sit in the Court.
ReplyDeleteNORMA ALVARES SHOULD BE ANNOINTED SAINT.
I was there when you said all the other governors willing give information but not the Goa Governor's office.
I personally appreciate the approach adopted by Justice Bobde.
Think of this Aires:
No human can be trustwothy under whatever oath he is sworn unto.
The constitution is not a human and therefor not coorupt and hence supreme.
All humans whatever might be their duties whether executive or not should be subject to transperancy and that is RTI. Infact he right thing to do was ask those who framed RTI whether Governers office comes under RTI-- and ask under RTI.
Don't forget the Tourism Minister's hiatus in the US for ONE whole month staying at posh hotels and eating out in fancy restaurants at the expense for the poor of Goa. They are people in Mumbai who eat chapaties and salt (yes salt!) for a meal. Do these fat cows think for the second? Do the people of Goa who consider themselves followers of a higher power even care? The CM cannot even fit in his chair, he recently broke his chair, feasting with real estate and mining thieves. This is what the people of Goa want, and they get what they deserve!
ReplyDeleteThese Goan Conventions do not usually produce anything of substance.
ReplyDeleteThere may be an exchange of ideas. But these ideas are not always followed through or get fulfilled.
These ideas are usually hijacked by the "evil forces" back in Goa.
That is true they are only fit doing best what they have been doing for the last five years, that is jigging like pig-tailed monkeys, while Goa is burning with fire. Goans are not short of bhaijoons who will join them little knowing that these are New Delhi’s proxies in London to serenade Indian Government’s colonization of Goa, which has been snatched from the preceding colonizers and instead of handing to the rightful legitimate owners, the bona fide Goans, they stole and kept for themselves.
ReplyDeleteIronically and morally, they are in the wrong place in the world because Britain, a freedom dispensing sovereignty does not recognize nor contribute to such violation of international law and code of conduct. Britain knows best than anyone else what is freedom and Goa’s independence according to her constitutional ruling would not be least. Britain has the long tradition of giving one third sovereign states of the globe their legally merited independence including the island state of Maldives just across Goa, that had a population of only 8000 fisher folk then and which India was claiming falsely as they have done in the case of Goa.
Nothing surprises us Goan government have made sure the citizens do not matter, Their life style is more important at the tax payers money.
ReplyDeleteOnce in London they'll all sing "Zuari bridge is falling down"
ReplyDeleteThe time is near....... and all will fall down....... let us bring in the change this elections. Do we have any good candidates to contest against these Schmucks? Come on me Goan brothers let us unite and in one sweep change the governance and work towards bringing Goa to its former glory. Let us keep our women, children and our traditions safe and alive. Rise now and prepare for glory.
ReplyDeleteand the PWC minister came after with a pail of water:D
ReplyDeleteWhat Chris says is absolutely correct. Britain does not recognize nor it is possible for her to recognize Goa to be part of India. It is on this basis that Britain refrained from using her veto in the UN Security Council in 1961. Britain goes by the international law that treats Goa as occupied territory with a status of a colony. Russia did veto but not for genuine reason but on the terms of its own self interest as an anti polar to the Western interest and because of lucrative deal in arms with India thus unjustly victimizing Goa and aiding the India. Russia has now gone back on her verdict in self-denial and self-contradiction because all her former satellite states have been given their rightful independence while Goa is not independent and lingers as a colony under India
ReplyDeleteSo any delegation from Goa to Britain according to Britain, does not have the political status as representative of Goa in present state of circumstances because Goa is a subordinate to overarching superordinate India not a sovereign state Therefore, according to British verdict they are ill-representatives which the British Goans of all ranking, civil servants or otherwise in their allegiance to Britain, their sovereign state, and as their country’s abiding citizens must bear in mind.
This scenario has a far reaching legal implications which almost all Goans are not fully aware and need to do so, lest they breed in ignorance and the local organizers need be concerned as well. This is not the bullshit where they cheat naïve Goans that Goa has gained “Freedom”
Interestingly, the Russian are back having gained their undetachable footing in colonizing all Goa with their money and watching the Goans being taken by India for ride like fools serenading.
