JOKE OF THE SEASON: CM TO ATTEND PUBLIC GRIEVANCES VIA VIDDO CONFERENCING

PANJIM: Come Tuesday, and Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat will attend to public grievances from South Goa via video conferencing as part of egovernance. Is this really true of is it a joke of the season as the CM is used to cracking such jokes.
Kamat told newsmen on Friday that he would visit the South Goa District Collectorate every Tuesday and interact with the taluka mamlatdars and deputy collector, besides members of the public through the broadband service installed in the minister’s chamber.. He said that members of the public can interact with him through the facility installed at the taluka headquarters between 9.30 am to 10.30 am every Tuesday. “ I have checked the facility put in place at Panjim and other centres.
The system was found working satisfactorily”, he said, adding “ In the first phase, only public grievances from South Goa would be attended to via the service, before it is extended to North Goa as well” In this connection, the chief minister has asked all the taluka mamlatdars and deputy collectors to remain in their offices every Tuesday between 9.30 am and 10.30 am. “ I will interact with members of the public on their grievances, and they can also share their problems with me via the facility”, he said, adding that the new concept will help in solving the problems faced by the people in remote corners of the State.
Incidentally, when the chief minister took over the reigns of office four years ago, he had disclosed plans to visit each taluka headquarters every month, but in vain. - SR

You are very right. Instead of video conferencing with Mamlatdars and Dy. Collectors, he should have started first video conferencing with Delhi. That would save taxpayers money by not rushing to Delhi everytime he get diarrhoea.
