SOFTWARE ENGINEER ARRESTED AT DABOLIM AIRPORT WHILST ATTEMPTING TO BOARD FLIGHT WITH A GUN

PANJIM: Vasco Police arrested a software engineer at the Dabolim airport on charges of attempting to board a Bangalore-bound flight with a gun and six cartridges. Raghunath Reddy (31) and his cousin were in Goa on a holiday. He was to proceed yesterday to Bangalore, while his cousin was to go to Hyderabad. At the Dabolim airport, at the time of baggage screening, CISF personnel traced a pistol and six bullets in Reddy’s baggage.
Reddy immediately alerted his cousin, who was to board a Hyderabad flight and was in possession of all permissions and documents pertaining to the bullets and pistol.  CISF then handed over Reddy to Vasco police and he was placed under arrest on charges of possessing the gun and cartridges.
Reddy's cousin then went to the Vasco Police station and showed all the documents regarding the pistol. Vasco Police said Reddy’s cousin had permission for the pistol and cartridges but Reddy by mistake had carried his cousin's baggage and was proceeding to Bangalore. All documents and permission pertaining to the arms were verified. Reddy is now in police custody. – UNI

aggybaba, there should be sometimes different articles on the news.  One cannot have all the time same clashes.  I understand that we have issues to fight but news is news.  All kinds of news must be up

Because our Police and Politicians are Criminals, Ghanti Criminals think it is OK to come to Goa with Guns and Bullets.

  5. Aggybaba it may look so to you!. Why it is not possible it was as a deliberate act and the excuse is just because he was detected with forbidden item? Many of the Terrorist acts are done with such chances. Because generally security checks are at every airports and every one knows it, and taking such chances is a very risky matter. Good the security officer was alert and the forbidden arm was detected in time if otherwise who knows what terrible might have taken place? It was possible also a trial was being carried out if any such forbidden arm is possibly being escaped the attention of security Personnel at Goa's Airport. It might even be possible a test by hungry media to publish how lapse is the security at Goa.  Kudos to Goa's Security Personnel at Dabolim Airport......Job well done.!!!c. even if it is a mistaken switch of baggage or a test exercise....

  6. A weapon should be handled or licensed to a person with great sense of responsibility. It is not a toy to be thrown around. The fact the there was a mix up in the baggage is no excuse,( God knows if it was really an excuse or some other motive behind) infact the person who had the license to carry the weapon is just as guilty as the person who wasnt licensed for his negligent behavior in safe keeping that weapon..It may be a mistake , but that mistake could have caused a lot of trouble if not picked up by the security .
