RAVI NAIK PRESSURED TO RESIGN BY BJP

PANJIM: In view of fresh information that absconding Israeli drug dealer Yaniv Benaim alias Atala might have escaped from India, the BJP has once again demanded resignation of the Home Minister, Ravi Naik alleging Atala’s escape was facilitated by Goa Police.
The BJP has also warned that if the Home Minister does not tender his resignation, they would follow other democratic means to press their demand.
Addressing a press conference on Monday here, the BJP spokesperson Rajendra Arlekar reiterated their earlier demand that the investigation into police-drug dealer nexus must be handed over to CBI.
Raising a question about the efficiency and sincerity of the Goa Police, the BJP spokesperson questioned the delay in issuing red corner notice and look out notice after Atala was reported absconding.
He said, red corner notice was issued seven days after Atala disappeared whereas look out notice was issued fifteen days later and in a way indicating that police are directly responsible for the escape of Israeli drug dealer.
Arlekar also alleged that Goa police have become inefficient and work under the patronage of their political bosses.
The BJP also criticised the Home Minister saying he has maligned the image of Goa and brought disrepute to the State by allegedly giving free hand to drug dealers.
On reports of threat to the life of his two sons, Ritish Naik and Roy Naik who have been provided with extra security, the BJP said it is an attempt by the Home Minister to divert attention of the people from alleged involvement of Roy Naik in police-drug nexus and, escape of Atala.
The revelation by the police that Michael Fernandes, key accused in recent case of robbery having confessed that he was offered supari to kill Home Minister’s son Roy Naik has been refuted by BJP saying it is a ploy by Home Minister to mislead people.
The BJP spokesperson also pointed out that proper investigation was not conducted of the accused and only proper investigation will reveal whether the claims about threat to the life of Home Minister’s son has any substance.

  1. He should be pressured to commit suicide along with his sons. These drug dealers have no place in society. They should be hanged or handed over to the Taliban.

  2. It is high time that the security of Goa taken over by CISF. Police force in Goa is found to be incompetent and untrained to handle or book cases.

  3. Joe, we have these Talibans in Goa itself who are ruining Goa every day with their destruction of the Goan fabric on a daily basis. The Talibans are doing with the same with the gun, these people are doing it without a gun in hand.

  4. Joe... They are actually the Talibans of Goa! Killing innocent people by supplying drugs and then pretending to be innocent and getting police protection??? Ravi wants the crime branch to investigate into petty crimes. Why not yet into the drugs nexus? Will his competent police force investigate the crimes or protect his sons? All of them should be fed Ratol. Ratol Baba... more business your way!!!

  5. dlp, Ratol Baba's business is not that good. Since the time Ratol became famous, people are denied easy access to RATOL tubes. If one ask for the product over the counter, eyebrows are raised and people feel a bit embarrased. The mouse and mice population is rising like our Goan politicians and their families. The mouse and mices of Goa along with their family members are destroying peoples daily bread just like the Goan politicians. I am strictly told to print in flourescent colour a warning that says -"NOT A TOOTH PASTE". This is extra burden on us now. TWP took a job with the Gua Police as Private Detective to ensure that haftas are properly secured by the lower cadre. I want to send a few tubes to Herald........

  6. In a true democracy, the Home Minister would have tendered his resignation for such a lapse. A high profile suspect in a drug case who is out on conditional bail disappears without a trace is a major dereliction of duty on the part of the police who in turn are responsible to the Home Minister. As such the onus lies on the Home Minister to resign and conduct a high-profile inquiry. Heads should roll at all level because the escape of Attala is not only an insult to the Gua police but he also made a mockery of the Indian judiciary.
The four pillars of democracy is the Executive, Legislative, Judiciary and the Fourth Estate (Media). In Goa all these pillars have collapsed. As such we don't have democracy in Goa, what we have is Oligrachy (rule of the few) and mobocracy (rule of the goondas).
My dear Goans, please unite and kick these 40 chors out of Goa.

  7. Why was Atala granted bail in the first place? Rape ACCUSED John Fernandes is still behind bars. Is this justice? Do the gua pulis have sufficient evidence/no evidence for the above two decisions ? I won't be surprised if one day we found out that Atala was escorted out of india by the pulis.

  8. That's exactly what must have happened aggybaba! He must have escorted out of the country on the quite with VIP treatment and after he was safely back in his country, they made a big hue and cry that Atala was missing. For one month they were sleeping and making sure that Atala was safely out.
