PARRIKAR: ACCUSED ABUSED ME
Former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday submitted before a court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao that he was abused by accused in a 2004 case at Cuncolim.
Deposing before the court, Parrikar said the accused Ballapa Desai abused him, thus showing disrespect to the chair of the Chief Minister.
The incident had occurred in the run up to the 2004 Lok Sabha polls when Parrikar’s PSO lodged a complaint with the Cuncolim police alleging that Ballapa abused the Chief Minister during his visit to Cuncolim.
Based on the complaint filed by the PSO, the Cuncolim police arrested Ballapa before chargesheeting the case in the court.
CAMERAL THEFT: MAPUSA POLICE ARREST ONE
Mapusa Police on Monday arrested a thief on charges of stealing a camera worth Rs 10,000. According to Mapusa Police, Jude Pinto alias Savio was moving around Alankar Theatre in a suspicious manner on Monday evening. After some people noticed him and informed the police, the police team led by Police Sub Inspector Nitin Halarnkar rushed to the site and nabbed Savio.
On interrogation at the police station, Savio confessed that he had stolen a Sony Cyber Shot Camera worth Rs 10,000 from a shop near Mapusa Court a few days ago. Police arrested him Savio and will produce him before the Judicial Magistrate First class on Tuesday for remand.

  1. Without the help from the public, our competent Gua Police are useless. After the people lead them to the criminals, they will arrest them and take all the credit for themselves. Keep it up Gua Police. What else can you guys do?? Protect the corrupt monkeys or arrest the criminals???
