WE WANT A GOVERNMENT IN GOA THAT GOVERNS! by Roger D'Souza

The time has come for every Goan to voice their opinion in a strong and clear voice and intensify the struggle to hold the Government of Goa accountable. RP2021 is nowhere in sight and it obviously serves the Government of Goa to keep Goan and Goans hanging in limbo all these years after Goans voiced their strong opposition and protests to repeal the Regional Plan that was sought to be hoisted on them.
The Government of Goa knows that it's to their advantage to delay and procrastinate in implementing Regional Plan 2021 so that they can take advantage of the deficiencies so taht they can carry on their nefarious plans to destroy Goa. The Government of Goa does not care about listening to the voices of the Goan people. It is evident to all that the Government of Goa doesn’t care for Goa nor for the common man in Goa. All that our Ministers, Government officials, TCP, Directorate of Panchayats, Forest Department can think of are devious means to rake in the loot and hoist all sorts of con-schemes to the detriment of the people and further the interests of the Builders, Mining Lobbies, Casinos, Hotel Lobbies and other vested interests. What do they care for Goa and Goans when all they think of is satiating their unending greed! We need to question our elected Representatives whether it's the MLA, the Panchayat members or our Government Officials and hold them accountable!
All Goans need to rally together to take this agitation forward before it’s too late. May all of you who care about Goa share this message so that we together hold the Government of Goa accountable!
Let us together put a stop to the destructive forces working to destroy our beautiful Goa, our Goan villages, forests, hills, coastal regions, islands, khazan lands, and our Goan way of Life. Let us rally together every Goan man, woman and child who cares for Goa. Let us carry this message to every town and village of Goa, to our temples, churches, mosques, to our Gram Sabhas to every Goenkar! Let us without fear hold the Government of Goa and our elected representatives accountable for their actions and inactions!
The Government of Goa cannot get away with the destruction of Goa! We all stand behind GBA's clarion call and look forward to their direction in taking this forward and holding the Government of Goa accountable!

  1. When I was a child I used to see verdant green hills and lush green fields. The villages had their own unique identities. Now, all that I see are concrete jungles and fallow fields, some of which are being filled up to make way for more concrete structures.
My moot point is for whom are these buildings and complexes being built? Are they for the Goans. Absolutely not.
A friend of mine, who is a professional and is working abroad, saw an advertisement for a villa in Aldeia de Goa in Dona Paula. He and his wife were interested in buying it. When he went to their office he was told that there were no plots or villas available there. He then pointed to the advertisement. In short, he was told that they are not selling the plots and villas to Goans, but were selling them only to high-worth individuals. Taken aback, he asked them to define high-worth individuals and argued with them for undermining Goans.
He was totally dejected at the state of affairs and has now vowed not to even visit Goa and he is happy in Canada.
So my dear Goans, all these complexes and developments that you see in Goa are not built for the benefit of Goans. The 40 Chors want to make a quick buck and they care a hoot about the welfare of Goa and Goans.
Look at the businesses in Goa. Almost all is controlled by the non-Goans. We need a mass movement to educate our Goan voters about their rights and not to eat the bread crumbs given to them at the time of elections.
Only then we will be able to liberate Goa a second time from these 40 chors who are not ruling but looting Goa.
Viva Goa, Viva Goenkar, Goa for Goans

Hi Roger D`sousa:The problem with Goa at present is that nearly all MLA`s are un-educated.They use the ill gotten money they have accquired to dominate every aspect of Goan life.As they are finiancially comfortable, they do not see what the True Goan feels. They all have over inflated egos. Each MLA wants to be fiiancially more superior than another MLA.It is refered to as the "POWER GAME".This is what gives them respect.Take for example Mickky,Ravi,Monseratte,Azgaonkar & Churchill (just these few).without any money or being in possesssion of huge tracts of Goan lands and prime property & resources(mining)they would be "A NOBODY". They would command as much honour & respect as one treats "shit".Goa`s hope will surely lie in highly educated future generations who are also conscientious & honest AND ALSO HAVE VISION TO BE PART OF THE MODERN WORLD.Currently the flavour is for MLA`s to get their next of kin elected in a Constituency .This election ticket is to milk the system and all & everyone that live in it.They wish to create "LITTLE EMPIRES" OR "PRINCIPALITIES" for themselves and their families and, to the detriment of fellow Goans...Goans that have a birthright to shere in its wealth and resources.

This may be off the point , however reading Bebdos comments a situation that I encountered comes to mind that I would like to share. In 2007 when on a holiday after quite some years, a long lost friend of mine invited me and my family to dine with along with his family at one of the shacks in Majorda on the eve of our depature,(dont know the name) 1st and foremost no waiter was willing to look after us, the shack was packed with white guests , after my friend insisted with the manager of receptionist we had a nepali waiter who with a digusting look attended to our order, it took hours for the drinks to come leave aside the food, white guests who came much after us were attended with smiles before us, the food tasted stale I have no words to explain but it was obvious that the staff who must have been hired for a megre some were intrested only on white guests as they expected huge tips , we being locals were treated like second class or third class citizens, my young son who never lived in goa also commented that the waiter was not a happy camper. So digusting goa is. We being goans and social by nature have to give up "eating out" as its digusting, is this what tourism has brought goa down too. These greedy shack owners are our very own goans. As for me I will go home only to see my old folks.

  5. We all have to get together to support the GBA on the agitation that they plan on launching against the Goa Government for not going ahead with a Regional Plan which reflects the whishes of the Goans! Stay tuned for details!

Down with the corrupt Government of Goa!
