MINISTER SUPPORTS WHOLEHEARTEDLY MINING IN GOA

PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane, who will fight the Valpoi by-poll to retain the seat, on Tuesday said that he whole-heartedly supports the mining industry in Goa.  Rane, represents the Valpoi constituency and has a strong support in the talukas of Bicholim and Satari, where the people have been demanding ban on mining due to the air pollution and environment reasons.
However, addressing a press conference at his Dona Paula residence, the junior Rane said that those who talk about banning mining should first speak about how they intend to give employment to the people of the area.
“The mining industry today provides employment to thousands of people. The people of Satari, Bicholim and Valpoi were poor people but due to mining they are now well to do as they have business and employment,” he said adding “…but mining should not be at a cost of environment”.
Further, he stated, “I do not give permissions for mining in the areas. It is the people who decide whether they want mines in their area or not during the hearing for Environmental clearance.”  Referring to BJP’s statements on mining, Rane said, “during BJP’s regime too mining existed and it is not something we have started.”
“If the BJP was so much concerned they should have stopped it when they were in power,” he said. “As far as I am concerned I am totally backing the mining industry,” he said. Replying to queries, he said there were no illegal mining in Valpoi constituency.

  3. My humble request to the people of Valpoi, throw this big 10% out. He is putting his dirty hat on peoples hed to blame them instead of taking the blame. As health minister, everyone knows how corrupt he is. Loo at the condition of our health institutions in Goa. Scrap conditions. What happened to his G7 group of other CHORS?

  4. Yes you are right Dalia but is it only 10%?

The scoundrel even was allocating land to Israelis for hospitals in Bambolim as if he got that as dowry to give away. In addition everything at GMC is being outsourced for more kickbacks by the crook.

  5. He is now scared of BJP. He knows he stands no chance against BJP so trying to get people from Valpoi in his net by promising his wholehearted support for mining in Goa. He is still not satisfied by destroying our once beautiful Goa. He is committed to see it completely destroyed. Look at that crooked smile on his face. Trying to look innocent. People of Valpoi... don't listen to his bullshit. Throw him out or as a health minister he is going to kill you all with the disastrous environment all around Valpoi with the mining activity in full swing.
