VALPOI: Two vehicles, both proceeding towards Onda met with an accident at around 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday at Reddeghat, Valpoi, damaging the car and injuring three people.
According to Valpoi police, a Maruti Alto car, bearing registered number GA-O4 C-2686, driven by Anant Gajanan Mandrekar (29) of Ravon-Satari, was heading towards Onda via Redeghat, when it collided with a truck, bearing registered number GA-O4 T-7773, also heading in the same direction.
The truck driver, Pramod Kashinath Gawas, resident of Nagvem, while overtaking the car, dashed against it. The impact threw the car off the road and it overturned and landed in a rivulet. Anant and a lady passenger, Ms Shilpa Majik (19) were injured in the mishap.
The driver of the speeding truck, after dashing against the car, lost control of the vehicle, which also overturned and landed in the same rivulet, a few meters ahead of the car. The truck driver was also injured in the accident. Valpoi police reached the site and conducted the panchama. Meanwhile, the three injured in the accident were referred to the GMC, Bambolim
