PANJIM: The state government has written to the CBI to take over investigations into the police-drug mafia nexus case, chief minister Digambar Kamat said on Monday.
While home minister Ravi Naik said he had given his assent to hand over the case to CBI on November 11, 2010 and the CM had given his approval on November 15, 2010, Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava said that he has already forwarded the file to CBI.
On Monday, the home minister said that he had also pressed for the extradition of alleged Israeli drug dealer Yaniv Benaim alias Atala from Peru around January 19, 2011.
When asked why the government had delayed in handing over the case to CBI, Naik said the government did not feel the need to hand it over because Goa police has capable officers. "Drugs have been around for a long time. Drugs are there in Goa, India and all over the world. Only because we started acting against the drug trade and people in the business were hit, I am being targeted," Naik said, adding that Anjuna PI Manjunath Dessai had registered 18 drug cases recently.
When asked to name the people and why he was not acting against them, Naik said these people could be politicians, policemen and others. He said lack of sufficient proof is preventing them from being arrested. Naik said his son Roy's name has been falsely linked to the drugs nexus because there are four other persons named Roy in North Goa, some of whom have had links with alleged drug dealers Atala and Dudu. Police have recorded the statements of two Roys, one D'Souza and one Fernandes, he said.
Asked about the bad publicity to the state, Naik said it was created by disgruntled politicians and hyped by the media. "I have been in politics since 1967. There is not a single case against me or my sons. The opposition is trying to malign me for political reasons," he said. (TNN)
Smart dog's!.After killing all the evidence these shameless rogues are ready for CBI inquiry to fool the people of Goa. Whom they are trying to fool?. When on the floor of the assembly this Ghantiencho Bapui CM was adament to the demand from opposition. Why not CM Ghantiencho Bapui and Pilot HM where reluctant to do so when the hit was ON?. Now everything has been cooled down and awaken just to show to public that is ready to face the charges. This is not a ordinary case but a high profile criminal case in which in some Countries carries death penalty and these idiot's are palying with citizen's life and death. Their families and generation will suffer with curse from people who have been suffered so far. All are hand in glove and on looting spree that is why none of the MLA has guts to raise question on wrong doing. I am sure Ghanti CM should be getting hafta from all the ruling MLA's that is why he has given everybody free hand to loot and destruct our beautiful GOA. I am Proud to be GOAN but not Indian.
ReplyDeleteSo Mr Ravi Naik,You have been dishonest and very econimical with the truth.
ReplyDeleteWho is ever going to believe anything, any more, that comes from you "twisted mind" and "Crooked" monkey like face.
Are the 2 "ROYS" you have mentioned...one a D`sousa and another "FERNANDES" sons of POLITICIANS?
As per the mother of Scarlett Keeling, she mentioned a "son of a politician".
As per ATALA and LUCKY FARMHOUSE, they mentioned a son of a powerful Politician. As a Cabinet Minister, you are the only person who can be called or described as"POWERFUL"(very unfortunately for Goans).
Powerful you are NOT,silly and dishonest, you are, along with that other lying Margao buffalo, Digamber KAMAT, the brother-in-law of a PIMP called LAWANDE.
All the drug peddlers and sellers too mention Roy a son of a Politician.
Your Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava too seems to be embriled in your scheme of witholding the truth. How much have you bribed him with to delay the FILE.
So RAvi NAik, this is how you and your devious and theiving son has amassed a fortune.
Before GOD punishes you I hope the people of Goa will punish you, most severly.
Dont forget to run to a Hospital near you or even far away, as, soon as you have been seen to be a deceiving bastard.Alternatively Digu Kamat will seat you on his lap and kiss and console you.
And MR KAMAT, you destroyed the career of a good man /COP called SHIRISH THORAT.
However with the blessing of God Shirish has proved he is better.
I hope Shirish Thorat is now having a "good LAUGH" at you and your monkey "lookalike" and "HARE " brained friend Ravi Naik.
I think all Goans too must be laughing at you 2 Political jokers.
This dysfunctional Government of Goa wants to pull wool over our True Goans eyes. It is only after all evidence is destroyed the case is now being handed over to CBI. This is the next election ploy. These birds of the same feather flock together and should be destroyed in the next upcoming election. The political crumb eaters should think very hard as they are to blame for electing the same uneducated criminals to power.
ReplyDeleteQuote "When asked why the government had delayed in handing over the case to CBI, Naik said the government did not feel the need to hand it over because Goa police has capable officers" Nice. Capable they are to sell drugs, even the seized ones (Resellers), tamper evidence, planting evidence, collect haftas and other free goodies without fail, manhandling and brutalities. Incapable of carrying out investigations, use their brains, or any other legal activities for the safety of goan society. We have the home minister and his son the drug wholesalers and the police the sales men, with the loot being equally shared amongst the politicians, we have a unique economic model working in goa, legislators combined with the law keepers beating up or supressing the law abiders, much to the detriment of goan society. Problem is this semi illiterate minister is mentally challenged that he cannot concoct a proper lie and expect us goans to believe him. You cannot lie to all the goans all the time, even if you were in politics since 1967. Curses of all the goans are upon you, yours will be an untimely end. And that monte dongor donkey, he is in a ghantti league of his own.Shameless imbeciles.
