MARGAO: The additional district and session judge, South Goa, Mr Desmond D’Costa, on Friday, rejected the bail application of Bashir Shaik, Rafic Bhawar, Shaik Rafic Tambak and Rabanne Tambak, arrested in connection with a case of attempted murder of a person from Monte Donger.
The arguments were heard on January 21, and orders were passed. Ms Asha Arseker, public prosecutor, appeared on behalf of the state, while Mr Kapil Vereker represented the applicants. The four alleged accused were arrested by the Margao police.
The Margao police opposed the bail application stating that the alleged accused are involved in criminal cases and that the vehicle used in the offence has not been recovered as yet, and that investigations were in progress. Police also stated that the weapon used in the attempt, an iron rod, has not been traced.
