PANJIM: The Electoral Office here has been asked to probe the allegation of dual citizenship against former Goa minister Fransisco Micky Pacheco, officials said today.
The Election Commission of India (ECI), had, last month asked the Chief Electoral Officer of Goa to probe the allegation against Pacheco, a former state tourism minister. Pacheco, an NCP MLA who has been a minister thrice, has been accused of holding citizenships of India and USA.
The Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Goa, Arvind Bugde, wrote to the electoral registration officer in Benaulim, asking to conduct inquiry into the issue on January 24. The letter was received yesterday, they said. Pacheco claimed that he had only Indian citizenship. "I have been sworn thrice in the cabinet. If I had dual citizenship, I would not have got the chance even to contest the election," he said, reacting to the allegation.
The former minister had to resign after getting embroiled in the controversy over the death of his lady friend, Nadia Torrado. "I am ready to face any inquiry. In the past too, I have come out clean after being probed for false allegations," he said. - PTI
I had sometime ago commented about this in a comment on O`Heraldo and later on NG.
ReplyDeleteEach time Mickky travelled to the USA,the newspapers published Mickkys visit to the USA was due to him having a "Green Card" or as some Newspapers stated Diplomatic Green Card.A green Card is only issued to US Citizens by "naturalisation" to allow them to freely travel in and out of The USA....::::::
"A Green Card or Permanent Resident Card serves as proof of an individual’s lawful permanent resident status in the United States. An individual with a Green Card has the right to live and work permanently in the United States. In order to remain in compliance with federal regulations, Green Card holders have to follow immigration law and be properly registered with the United States government. Green Card holders are entitled to depart the United States on vacation or for work purposes. However, there are limitations on how long an immigrant can stay outside the United States without losing his or her permanent resident status (Green Card). In most cases, a document called a "Reentry Permit" must be obtained from the USCIS prior to travel. "
How Miccky got a Diplomatic "Green Card" being an Indian Diplomat is a mystery.Indian Diplomats are never issued "GREEN CARDS".The USA issues Diplomats of a foreign Country a Diplomatic Visam which has to be obtained from the US Embassy located in that Country. In the case of Mickky India.
This issue that has been raised must be from the Immigration scams that Mickky is a MASTTERMIND in.
More to follow after research.?????

ReplyDeleteMARGAO: Additional sessions judge Desmond D'Costa on Friday granted conditional permission to Benaulim MLA Francisco 'Mickky' Pacheco to visit USA for a period of 15 days and directed the crime branch to release his passport.
Ordering the release of Pacheco's passport, the judge stated that since the applicant has a business enterprise in USA, the court cannot deny him his right to travel abroad for business purpose. Pacheco had deposited his passport with the crime branch after he was granted conditional bail in connection with the death of his friend Nadia Torrado.
As per the conditions mentioned in the order, Pacheco has to deposit his passport with the investigating officer within seven days of his return from USA. Pacheco should also submit photostat copies of his travel tickets to the court.
The court has also directed the investigation agency to hand over his five mobile handsets and three SIM cards attached by it. Pacheco has to give an indemnity bond of Rs 50,000 in the matter.
The court has ordered Pacheco not to dispose off the mobile sets and SIM cards and to produce them to the investigating authority whenever directed by the court.
However, the court dismissed the Pacheco's plea to release his laptop and eight CPUs as reports from the central forensic science laboratory at Hyderabad are awaited. In this case, Pacheco had sought permission to visit USA for a business trip for a period of 15 days, commencing from August 15.
Earlier, public prosecutor Bhanudas Gaonkar expressed apprehension that ****the applicant may jump bail as he is a green card holder of the USA******. "There is every possibility that the applicant may jump bail and abscond from the investigation into the case of Nadia Torrado wherein he is the prime accused," stated Gaonkar.
Pacheco's lawyer Anacleto Viegas argued that there was no reason for the Benaulim MLA to jump bail as he has his house and family in the state.

If he can have many wives and concubines like Viola the whore, they why is it impossible to hold more than one nationality?
ReplyDeleteAs Mickky has been alleged to be running an Immigration scam by the U.S. authorities, what would stop him doing the same for him self.
ReplyDeleteEach time he sought his Passport Back from the court to travel to the USA, he probably requested his Indian Passport Back...while concealing his US Green Card.
If he has told the Court authorities in a sworn affadavit, that he is a holder on an Amercian Green Card, and now denies it,than this perjury.
The US Embassy will surelyhave details of his entry to the USA and the Document he used for this purpose.
It is but sad that the Goan Authorites like to drag such major issues. It does not bid well for the Progress of Goa.
Besides Tourism, Goa now seems to have accquired a reputation for major corruption in all spheres of its Administration.
This is caused by the few for their own selfish and egotistical interests.
