KAMAT'S FALSE WAKE: ASKS FOR POLICE-POLITICIANS-DRUG-MAFIA NEXUS REPORT

PANJIM: Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat Wednesday called for a report from the home ministry in connection with the police-politician-drug mafia nexus case. A top police official also said that the state government was moving for the extradition of an Israeli drug dealer wanted in Goa, who was caught in Peru last week.
Kamat's call for a report 'within 24 hours' comes a few days after a local TV channel screened a sting operation conducted by the sister and girlfriend of arrested Israeli drug dealer David Driham alias Dudu, which showed an anti-narcotics police officer selling drugs to them.
'I have asked them to submit a detailed report by tomorrow (Thursday) evening,' Kamat told reporters outside his official residence Wednesday evening. He also said that he met with home ministry officials on the matter.
The Goa police has been rocked by the police-politician-drug mafia nexus issue for several months now. Seven police officials have already been arrested for their links to the drug mafia, after spy camera video footage uploaded on www.youtube.com last year by the Swedish girlfriend of another Israeli drug dealer Yaniv Benaim alaias Atala created much sensation here. The video showed Atala boasting of his links to the police.
'We have prayed for expediting the process of extradition. We hope to get custody of Atala soon,' Director General of Police Bhimsain Bassi said.  Bassi also said that a probe would be initiated into how Atala, who was granted bail by a local court, had crossed the international border and found his way back to Israel first and then Peru. - IANS

  2. I was always to comment in fear of my English as i am not a good writer. I was also afraid that I may be harassed by the police for writing. Now i know that if it was the case, then many would have not commented here. Digambar Kamut is a Chor of margao with a gang of another 39 chors from all over Goa.

  3. Is The Kamat Govt really serious or is this an other diversion of attention to fool the Public?
In the fist place why was such a high profile drug dealer not kept under survelance? Who fascilitated his departure of escape? How did he escape? why was his passport not withheld? Can someone answer these questions. For sure his escape was planned by the very people who were in hot soup.If the Govt wants Atala back as they claim for investigation, why do they not in the first case get down to do a serious investigation on the sting operation clips that are on the web clearly showing the Police themselves being the Main DRUG DEALERS? WHY cannot they put their house in order first? I have so many questions but no answers.
Our Current political situation is just Pathetic.God Bless our lovely Goa form these Crooks.

    To Renoir::::
There is no doubt in my mind that ATALA,`s disappeareance /escape was done in connivance and efforts of The Goa Police.
This is to protect their colleagues and eventually that of the famous goan (no drugs in Goa) Chimpanzee Ravi Naik and his offspring Roy.
Some of these Police tactics can be seen in the case of DUDU.
The Goa Police are now seeking DEPORTATION from Peru...and not EXTRADICTION.Extradiction is a very long Judicial proccess.India and P|eru have no Treaty on this.
However ATALA does have human rights, which can be challenged in the Courts of Human Rights in the Hague, and can opt for extradiction.
The story so far is that, ATALA was stopped at the airport. In this case "deportation" would be applied and appropriate. If he entered Peru and was then arrested, it has to be EXTRADICTION.
There is another issue here called "ENTRY REFUSAL.If the Peruvians opt for this , Atala will be removed back to Israel(port of embarkation)....not Goa.
It wouod be interesting to see how the Goa Government manouvre around this.

  6. The fact of the matter is that drug dealings along with criminal activities be it prostitution, extortion have become fully embedded in Goa with the politicians and the police all backing this for their personal gains.

Be it Vasco, Margao, Panjim or Porvorim or any other small village dealing in drugs carries on with the very patronage of the police. Our Goans are succumbing to the evils and many a youth and many families are being destroyed. The rot needs to be exposed. Even small gaddas are now known to traffic drugs!
