COPS BEAT A WOMAN AT THE POLICE STATION

PANJIM: A 29-year-old woman has complained to the Goa State Commission for Women (GSCW) that she was arrested by Bicholim police at night and assaulted by them due to which she suffered injuries and had to be admitted to Goa medical college and hospital. GSCW has recorded the victim's statement and ordered an inquiry.
Geeta Pednekar, alias Sanjiwani Parab, complained to the commission that she was at her father's home with her mother on the night of January 1, when Bicholim police came at 10pm and forcibly removed them from the house.
"They dragged me and my mother from our home in the night using lady police staff. Then a policewoman kicked me due to which I suffered injuries and had to be admitted to GMC," she said. GSCW chairperson Ezilda Sapeco said, "We have received a complaint and have recorded the woman's statement at GMC. We have ordered an inquiry into the matter."
When contacted, Bicholim SDPO DySP Bousset D'Silva said, "She was removed from the house which she had trespassed into using reasonable force. The police didn't assault or abuse the woman and all these allegations are baseless.
We have not even arrested the woman but only removed her from the house she trespassed into along with her mother after we received a complaint against them."
Police said the house is a disputed property and the matter is pending in court as Geeta's father, claiming to be a bachelor, had sold the house to Suman Shirodkar and her husband.
Geeta, however, claims that she had not trespassed into another's property but was at her house when the incident happened. "Suman Shirodkar and her husband had forged documents to illegally take custody of our house in Sharda Nagar colony at Bicholim. I was in the house with my mother on January 1, when the po-lice first came at 8 15pm. We explained the situation to them and they left," she said. Geeta said that at about 10 pm, a police officer returned with lady staff to their house and forcibly dragged her mother, who fell down unconscious.
"They got an ambulance and shifted my mother to the hospital. They arrested me and took me to the police station where the police brutally kicked me on the stomach. I fell unconscious unable to bear the pain and the police shifted me to GMC. I don't remember how long the police continued to kick me," she said. Geeta is being treated at GMC and complains of severe pain in the abdomen. (TNN)

  1. Was DYSP Bousset D’Silva a witness or the arresting officer? On what grounds does D’ Silva denies the assault never took place? How did the mother and daughter end up in hospital with an ambulance? I would like to see the outcome of this story.

Bossuet D'Silva is one of the most corrupt officer who was caught accepting bribes when he was in Cuncolim as PSI. He has a record of using people and dumping them for his own benefit. He must have accepted a huge bribe to do the act and is the reason why is he defending the criminals as usual. As a good officer, he does not accept any bribe by himself but request it to be handed over to his wife, brother or mother in law.
When there are strictures from the Court of Law, who is Bossuet to order eviction of the women? What proof does Bossuet have that they are not legally the owners of the house? Has he become the Judge and since when? All this need explanation. Morever, remember, this same Bossuet punished a good officer Raposo for stopping prostitution. As Diogo rightly pointed, how can the women end up in ambulance and in GMC?

It is indeed sad that the police used force on helpless women. Did Bossuet obtained a court order to evict the women? Bossuet is a silent killer who does not have shame, not a bit of shame in accepting bribe and act on behalf of the criminals. He has a dubious record of criminal activities.

Bossuet should be immediately suspended along with the other police officers involved in this act. The police has no right to evict someone by force without Court Order. His services should be terminated and enquiry ordered by a learned Judge. Will Aires Rodrigues help the poor women?

  6. Is the corrupt Police Force of Bicholim belongs to Taliban? Is corrupt Bossuet a Taliban? What right has he got to use brutal force on women? Bossuet as he defends himself proves that he received a huge bribe to do the act or else he would not defend an act brutally done by his officers.

  7. One build's a Fence around the property, for protection. (What happens when the Fence starts eating and beating you, still worse robbing you?)

This case is the same, the Police are our Fence, for protection, still worse we need protection from the Police.

  8. Police don't have any right to interfere in Civil Matters unless and untill there are violent incident regarding the properties. This is clear Human Right violation case but requesting Ezilda Sapeco help is usless since she is just a puppet of criminals Government.People of Bicholim should stone Bossuet D'silva to death a criminal in Police uniform.

  9. Those who know Bossuet personally will realize that this is one of the dirtiest officer. He is a criminal in Police uniform. He does his criminal acts so cooly, you will never know his act or acts has rendered so much pain on oneself. His brother is his collection agent including another PI Dalvi who does collection for him. Invite Bossuet for a free treat and he will come with his troupe and bags to fill and take away.

  10. One don't go and remove someone from the house at 10.00 pm in the night. Only criminals and Chors acts in these manner at night time. Bossuet must have taken a huge amount from the interested party to commit the act with his full knowledge. It is high time that he should be suspended or send to GRP. This dirty, corrupt, shameless officer is a black spot of Goa police. It is a shame of Goa.

1- There is a Supreme Court directive that no police officer can summon or arrest a woman from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
2- This is the type of "freedom" the Freedom Farters brought down on Goa. Freedom to abuse authority, loot, rape, extort, sell drugs, etc., etc.
    3. Has any of the freedom farters protested against this abuse? Has any of their supporters like that one Yogesh any comments?

  12. Mockery of Law by the protectors of Law. Bossuet is a disgrace himself who live to feed on others. He is one of the laziest officer who is good in fueling disharmony amongst others and harvest on that. It is true that he lives on doles and people who feed him illegitimate fodder are good for him. He will do anything if bribed. He is one officer with no morals and is a ungrateful human. It is even disgraceful to call him a human as humans don't defend criminals in police outfit.

  13. MY BLOOD BOILS: The above news report and comments have done a commendable job in posing a transparent picture of the Human Rights Violation of Geeta Pednekar and Supreme Court Directive violation by the criminal police BOSS-tard (akka Bossuet) who is a fit case for death by hanging or electrocution for his numerous murders of the Law instead of ever being protector of the Law abiding. Defrock the stinking police officer of the ‘Police Vardi’ at least this once. While the Devil incarnate politicians shunt these equally devil possessed police officers from one corner to another to keep butchering people even at night, not even sparing the women folk, my question is - WHO will be the INCORRUPT judge and lawyer who will bell these vicious cats, and bring these rogue perverts to book, so that once and for all they are confined to the dungeons of Aguada Jail like the notorious Rathore of the “Ruchika molestation” case.(Sorry that the grinning ghost is freaking out after licking clean the prisoners platter even though for a short while)

  14. The police force involved in commiting this heinous crime should be punished by stripping them of their uniform and sending them to jail. The DySP who think that reasonable force should be treated by the public in the same way by using "reasonable force" and then send to GMC in a bullock cart. A lot is heard about this corrupt cop Bossuet that he is totally inhuman and ineffecient who only enjoys the support of the politicians as he licks their boots. I also heard that he like only a certain category of society and hates the lower class or the poor class of people.

  15. This Bossuet D'Silva is Saddam Hussain, Atala, Bin Laden, et al, all built in one. The most corrupt and sadistic police officer I know. What will the other police officials under him do? Just follow him and his corrupt lessons.

  16. I do not understand why the lady was assaulted by the police force. Are the all above the law, the dispute is with the court and should be settled by the court or by compromise with the bith parties. Anyway I have lost trust with the police now, because of few police the other police have to suffer

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes Marcel you are correct due to some good policemen other police have to suffer and get bad name. The good policemen should burn the bad ones and dump them, then our Goa will be the safest place

  18. Why the governmant is not taking action on this corrupt cop. He should be stone to death by the cops themselves.

  21. Who is this dirty cop that talks about using reasonable force? According to police books, can this Bossuet describe the quantum of reasonable force? I am sure that money talks and bullshit walks. They shouod be stripped of their posts for violating basic Human Rights. Bossuet was a bad beggar cop when he was in Ribandar and is famous for eating free food and drinks at the cost of others.

  22. Sincere Police Officer6 January 2011 at 02:16

The police station at Bicholim is full of dirty police officers. I know that most of the police constables are involved in hafta collection and there are also fixed cops to collect hafta from mining truck drivers. The villagers of the jurisdiction of the Bicholim police station are living in under total fear and do not raise their voices against the mining lobby or else Bossuet goes and beats them up for one reason or the other. The Bicholim police station makes a lot of money earned through terror tactics and all goes to Bossuet who hands over a part to his higher ups. He shouod be immediately suspended for beating women at night nd defending his actions.

  23. You Sincere Police Officer, why do you bark here on Niz Goenkar? Go and tell it to your boss who must be knowing how much the Bicholim police station is doing. Why are you barking here since you do not get a part of your hafta. I suspect you are Terrence who was sent to GRP by this Bossuet or else no police officer will claim himself sincere. I am a police myself and know that the department is full of corrupt officers, some lesser other to the core. No doubt Bossuet is enjoying political immunity for many factors including his profeciency in doing dirty work and that will not remain for long. I am not defending his acts and the SP is in full knowledge of what has happened, action will follow sooner. You don't claim to be sincere and bark on this blog, if you have guts, release the names of all worst corrupt officers here and ask the SP to read them, write your real name instead of SPO.

  24. Suman's Neighbors, Bicholim6 January 2011 at 05:11

Here are the facts of the case and I write this since i know the whole family of Geeta. As written in the report by different news papers in Goa about the facts, the story is distorted and reported as told to reporters by DySP Bossuet.
Geeta's father is not either divorced or is a bachelor. Due to dispute, there is a separation of marriage and the house and other property is under dispute. Geeta and her mother lived there whereas the father lived with his new found concubine. Somehow forging the documents, he tried to prove that the house is sold to Suman Shirodkar which is untrue. Suman and her husband entered the house by force and occupied it. Somehow after learning the reality, left the house and the real occupiers Geeta and her mother lived as usual. Geeta's father along with Suman arranged this supari with the police who colluded illegally to drive the real co-owners and occupiers out by dragging by force. The court case is still ongoing and there are no strictures from the court for them to vacate or leave the house. the property is still a joint property of Geeta's parents and police has got no right to evict them by force and that too without notice or by force.
There was a battalion of 5 policemen and police women who came that night, fully armed with intention to cause harm. They, in front of the neighbors dragged them by force, pulling them by their hair in spite of helpless cries. One of the officer standing beside was taking instructions from DySP and was becoming more arrogant. they were locked in their own house and beaten mercilessly for refusal to come out. It was past 10.00 pm and by almost midnight as the drama was going on, we saw the ambulance coming. The police started driving away the neighbors so to avoid any tangible witnesses. The ambulance stood there for few minutes and left without any siren blown. Word was spread that they fainted and later, the neighbors learnt that they were beaten mercilessly, kicked and made unconscious. The police closed the doors of the house, left two constables and a jeep and left. In the morning, there was a different story circulated.
As media men approached Bossuet, he was smilingly claiming it to be a false story and concluded by saying that no such force was used. Bossuet’s face was readable that it was a fixed plan that was carried out in darkness like how dacoits act. It is understood that Geta’s father along with Suman has bribed the police to a great extent and hence the illegal action, violation of human rights was carried out under the cover of darkness. Ezilda Sapeco and Bossuet are family friends and there is little hope that there will be justice from her. She is not even much interested when we approached here to follow the case intensively. Geeta and her mother are still suffering from pain and bruises and the medical records are not yet out. It will be difficult for a fair medical report from GMC as Bossuet is used by Vishwajeet Rane to do his dirty work in Bicholim and are friends.

We beg Niz Goenkar to kindly help us to reach the truth to the highest police authority.

    ReplyDelete
  25. A very touching story told by Suman’s neighbour and a lesson to be learnt from this episode. Will the mother and daughter get true justice from the hands of the Police Department? Definitely the answer is NO! The corrupt will get protection from his higher ups and the case will always remain in the dark.

To PO why do you blame the SPO for bringing out the truth to the notice on this blog, because he knows that the true story will never be published in the local media and this is the only forum where truth is freely written and spoken. PO you have challenged the integrity of the SPO to come out the names of the corrupt officers, why don’t you take the same challenge and give the names with your true name. It is easy to speak but hard to do in words. If both the officers have some true feelings what is happening surrounding them, they are free to come out with names and give a fair justice to Goa and its people. Hope justice prevail.

We are very much elevated this morning when we received calls from our neighboring village asking to read Niz Goenkar. We are elevated because we are heard in this article. We see another article by Mr. Bebdo highlighting our plight. Make a point here, Geeta and mother were unconcious at home only but they were taken to the police station to wipe evidence that the ambulance picked them from home. We are told that they were beaten more at the police station thinking that they were faking unconciousness. I thank the editor of this electronic paper for giving a chance to the readers to know the true story. I hope someone will help the family. Geeta and her mother are told that they will receive medical reports through the police as they are the party who admitted them. Many politicians called the family but they are not ready to politicise the issue. There are also warnings given to the family to keep shut their tongues.

  33. Dear Geeta's Neighbor,

Can you people help Niz Goenkar to help Geeta and her mother? Whatever evidence that can be collected like their photos specially where they were beaten up (marks on the body) etc and their full photos even clicked by mobile or some video clips even clicked by the mobile. We would like to help Geeta and her mother get justice. For that we need support and cooperation from the neighbours specially so that it would give us some clues to go ahead. KINDLY USE THE EMAIL IDs WHICH ARE ON THE SITE TO CONTACT US. Thank you - Menino de Valpoi

You all pray that Geeta and her mother come out well from the hospital. They have internal injuries and abdominal tissue damage. They will be referred to private doctors sooner. Police are still pressurising the family to keep quiet. Except Gomantak Times, the other news papers of Goa are reluctant to publish further stories of the ailing family. Niz Goenkar can send your own correspondent to GMC and they are willing to talk to whoever comes to ask questions so the world will know their story and police brutality.
