SMGC'S APOLOGY TO ALL GOANS - By Menino de Valpoi

EMAIL RECEIVED FROM SMGC DUBAI (in Black ink)
To all Niz Goenkars (All the Goans),
On behalf of my Team and myself I like to apologize to all you Niz Goenkars for whatever inconvenience caused knowingly or unknowingly. I'm sorry for the same. I look forward for your support in the future.
Yours sincerely,
Cajetan Coelho.
The above message is received from the President of St. Mary's Goan Community, Dubai Mr. Cajetan Coelho who has personally apologised to all the Niz Goenkars (All the Goans) in an official email sent by him through their official website.
It is high time we accept it, as we are all human beings and no one among is perfect. Mistakes can be committed by any human. Let us put the past behind and go ahead. Let us have brotherly feelings towards all. We cannot afford divisions among us all the normal citizens of Goa. We the Goans must unite now. Whatever happened and happens must be kept aside and live for a new tomorrow. We need a glorious Goa that once was and for that we all the Goans Christians, Hindus & Muslims who are the true sons of Goa should unite against the forces of evil.
I also thank all the readers and commentators for their views with a request to forget what happened and let us not politicise this issue any further as there are much more bigger issues going on in Goa, which we have to fight against united as one Goan family.  That is the only way to get back our Golden Goa to its glorious days that it once had enjoyed.
Thank you
Menino de Valpoi

  1. It is 17.15 and I have just walked in from work. Having read SMGC's apology I was not over the moon But joyful that we Goans can be sensible and unite for the better of Goa. There is a healing process that shouldn't take long. We as humans and will fall through many pot holes like in Goa, but we need to learn to stand up and walk and assist others too. Although hurt at the first instance, I have nothing to bear grudge against. Cajetan my heart and mind is clear of any hatred, And hope you can Now gather support for the better of Goa. God help and bless us all.

At this moment, I do express my happiness and satisfaction that we are just Goans and not anybody else with divisions. Though the apology came too late, it is never late than never. Let us keep the spirit and identify ourselves as Goans, anywhere in the World. Let this healing touch give strength to Jackson, may he come out of his dilemma and walk as a normal man, rest will be history. Thank you Menino, thank you Niz Goenkar for uniting Goans as a force for a cause.

  4. Whatever happened, has happened for good. Now let us all realize that "Eok boddi (stick) konnacheanuim moddunk zata, punn dha (10) boddieo borabor dovorleo zalear, konnachean moddunk zaupak nam". I hope we all have learnt our lessons well and stick together for our motherland Goa. No going back! No going back! Um, Dois, Tres! Let's all march forward. Haph! Taph! Haph! Taph!

  5. Those of you who have studied theology would probably know these two well known Christian philosophers and guiding lights for the foundation of the Catholic faith.
They are St. Augustine, the Bishop of Hippo; and St Thomas Aquinas.

As we have forgiven all those who have trespassed against us;and likewise I hope all those who I think have tresspassed against, the quotes of St. Augustine from his book Confessions comes to mind.

"Forgiveness is the remission of sins. For it is by this that what has been lost, and was found, is saved from being lost again.
    - St. Augustine."

And the other quote which I very well remember, but cannot recollect who said it was this:
"God pardons like a mother, who kisses the offense into everlasting forgiveness.”
Love you all guys and I am happy to know that our family of Goan brothers and sisters is growing by leaps and bounds.
We are always there for you guys in Dubai as we too count on you when we may need help.
Dev Borem korum ani Mog Asundi

N.B. Now all our energies should be concentrated on kicking out the 40 chors out from Goa.
Guys don't forget about the morcha in Goa against the Regional Plan. We need to organise that properly so that we can succeed in smoking out Ali Baba and his 40 Chors out from their caves.

  6. Why it took Cajetan so long to apologise? Was he trying to hide something within that time? Niz Goenkars should be complimented for being patient with this Cajetan as he failed to show norms of decency by apologising at the earliest. There was no need of all this if he was not senseless to issue the letter by email telling others are lesser than Dubai Goans. Anyway, the controversy is over and we are happy.

  7. Well said, Menino! We must move forward, I believe we have learned a lot from our discussions and we are a better people because of this forum. Thank you for your hard work in allowing this website to continue. We all have imperfections and we all make mistakes but we must always remember we must fight to keep Goa for future generations of Goan youth. We must keep our culture going in Goa. All I ask is that leaders that do come forward to serve, to please try to emulate the great leaders of Goa - we know who they are. Lets unite and fight for Goa, and Goan values. We are at great risk as we may loose our beloved Goa, so all Goans must come forward as ONE...it is the ONE and ONLY home we have. Mining and over construction is destroying OUR Goa....lets concentrate on those causes and in helping our fellow people so that we will be a strong and a power force against the evil forces that want to destroy our beautiful homeland.

  8. Yes my Goan brothers and sisters - Let's move on to other more pressing issues in unity and use our strength to make a better place for Goa and niz goenkars. Our next step is to get together with our village groups and GBA for the October 14th protest against the Goa Government for allowing the destruction of Goa and not implementing the Regional Plan years after we rose in unity.

Hope to see you all at Azad Maidan on Oct 14th at 4:30pm. Please advise if you will be there and bering as many as you can, young and old to show you care for Goa.

GBA to hold protest march for RP 2021 in Panjim
    HERALD REPORTER
    PANJIM OCT 10

After many reminders through many press notes the Goa Bachao Abhiyan has finally decided to get real. It will now hold corner meetings in villages to appeal to people to assemble at Azad Maidan on October 14 at 4.30 pm for a showdown.
And the showdown, less unlikely to be the final one, is yet again a march to the CM’s official residence at Altinho, here, to hand him a memorandum to serve as a reminder on the Regional Plan 2021 promise. The memorandum is an ultimatum to the Government to come out clean on the plan.
GBA has support of other village groups and this was witnessed at a meeting held at Margao Residency which was attended by representatives from Benaulim, Carmona, Cansaulim, Margao, Nuvem, Raia, Verna, Mormugao, and North Goa.
Asserting it was high time to come out with the plan, the GBA and the other groups will now pressure the CM for a firm assurance on the plan.

Convenor GBA Sabina Martins said the demands of the GBA continue to remain the same, but the Government wasn’t paying any attention.
“Patience of the people has run out. The CM had assured in the Assembly that the RP 2021 would be ready by September,” she mentioned and rued, “However, till date, even the guidelines for taluka plans are not ready nor the Committee to amend TCP Act for participatory planning has met.”

Martins said, “Notification of eco-sensitive zones marked in the draft RP 2021, freeze on constructions to 50 FAR as many villages have asked for VP3 status till the finalisation of the RP2021, implementation of High Court orders that state no NOC should be given till the infrastructure and garbage disposal is in place and legislation and amendment for participatory planning are some of the core issues and at the heart of the whole RP 2021.”

GBA has now appealed to all the people from all walks of life to assemble at the Azad Maidan, here, at 4.30 pm, on October 14 if they were interested in making the RP a reality.

FORGIVING is Divine; FORGETTING is Foolish.
You will end up doing the same mistakes again and again.
Politicians also when trapped apologise and many then tell you 'Forgive and Forget.'
This is exactly why we keep electing the same thieves every time.
It is high time Goans have good memory, remember antecedents before placing your trust in anything or anyone.

  10. Bebdo... You seem to have a great knowledge of theology. Were you on your way to becoming a priest anytime and gave up? Just inquisitive. Yes.... now let's be after the 40 thieves. They must have been relaxing and enjoying themselves while our other drama was going on. Now that the curtain is come down, let us continue from where we left from our previous drama, that is Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.

  11. Only NIZ GOENKARS will be there and the others will be destructor's who will try to disrupt the session.

I am happy the hatchet is buried and wish Jackson comes out of the hospital as we pray.

  12. It about time Goans show that they have had enough og these corrupt politicians. Unity among Goans is a Must.

  13. Cajetan: I salute you since you accepted what is wrong!

  14. Dalia... now that we have learnt how we can get distracted or diverted from the main issues, we will concentrate on our main cause and don't allow anyone to disrupt our session. There will be destructors, I know, but we will let them be. Turn a blilnd eye.
Diogo... Yes, we have had enough of these corrupt monkeys so let us stick to our cause and keep grinding like before.

  17. As the saying goes on once the feathers are scattered, it is very difficult to gather each and every one. As the episode has been unfolded now, the scares will remain for sometime in our minds. The best thing Mr. Cajetan can do is do something tangible so that all the people of Dubai can notice some changes in the St. Mary’s Community. As this Community is dedicated to Mother Mary, may she guide and protect you all in your future endeavours to do good for the betterment of Goans and also to any others who needs their help and support. Viva Goa – Viva Niz Goenkar, we are there to assist and guide you too in any of your debacles that comes across your way don’t give up at any circumstances and keep up the good work that is being done by you. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

  18. At least this is something to read. But I say hats off to Mr. Menino, because you have really proved yourself to be a True Goan who wants unity of the Goans more than fame and glory.

  19. There was no need for Cajetan to delay a simple apology. Now we should forget all that happened even though I smell that somebody or the other was trying to make money using jackson's cause has given a wider apology realising that their exposure was imminent. I refer this to Judy wife of Praveen Viegas. So now let us put all this behind and pray for Jackson. Now only prayers are needed and not money. Money later.

  20. It really makes me happy that SMGC is out for unity of Goans at last. Sometimes we do commit mistakes and humbly accepting the mistakes is really great not only before humans but before God as well.
