BETIM TEACHER KNOCKS HIGH COURT DOOR OVER INFLUENTIAL TRANSFER.

Sujata Cacule from Calangute, a science teacher, who was transferred to Mulgao High school has challenged her transfer before the High Court. Ms Cacule who was presently attached to Government High School Betim, has in a Writ Petition filed before the Bombay High Court at Goa stating that being a science teacher her transfer from the present posting to Mulgao as a maths teacher is illegal, arbitrary and was pre-planned at the behest of Mrs. Rima Zingde and her husband who is the headmaster, Mr. Shailesh Zingde.

The Bombay High Court, Justice D. G. Karnik and Juscice F. M. Reis has directed the Education Department to submit a detail transfer report before the court by next week.
Ms Cacule had been working as a science teacher since her appointment in 1986 by the education department and she had been teaching science to classes 6th, 9th & 10th at Betim for the last 24 years.
In her petitin Ms Cacule said “On July 7, 2010 at around 10.30, Rima came to my school with relieving order and to join as a science teacher here, On the very same day at 12.30 I was served with transfer order dated July 2, transferring me to Mulgao high school,”
After joining the Mulgao High School, Ms Cacule came to know that there was no vacancy of a science teacher. “The petitioner was forced to teach mathematics subject for which, she does not have any educational qualification or experience,” the petition stated.
She further alleged that Rima, the wife of Shailesh Zingde, headmaster of Betim high school, was appointed as an assistant teacher in December 2009 and within seven months she is transferred to a high school, against the rules of Goa board.
The petitioner submitted that as per the state government order dated June 26, 2008 and the order passed by Goa Board of Secondary and High Secondary education on February 2, 2010 one teacher can be transferred only after considering the subject handled by such teachers.
Cacule also alleged that the headmaster Shailesh Zingde was quite influential and got his wife transferred to his school using his influence in the Educations Department. She also said in her petition that just because Rima has been brought to the government high school, she cannot be forced to teach mathematics.

  1. What a science teacher be asked to teach Maths if one does not have educational qualification or training. Who is behind this transfer some heavy weight? These type of things happen too often in Goa.

  2. I fail to understand as to why a teacher specialised in a specific field being transferred to another locality for something that she does not teach. The school administrators may have had differences that lead to her transfer or the Principal’s next of kin is awaiting to fill in the position of the subject made available upon her transfer. The principals and senior administrators regardless of the institution should be made aware that transfers or postings are part of the instituitions norm every 2 or 3 years. Remaining in such positions till eternity fetches them friends in higher ups. Such practices of influencial transfers should be investigated and both parties penalised because, it is ultimately the student that suffers for the wrongs committed by these insane seniors.

  3. This is highly unethical. She must be terminated or transferred to distant place.

  5. It is understood that both of them are heartless human beings. Shailesh never supported his aged parents. He has no ethics and can go to any extent for his selfish motto.

Such individuals must be punished strongly.
