SMGC WANTS TO ROPE IN NELSON SILVEIRA AS NEW PRESIDENT by Bebdo

The St. Mary’s Goan Community which has become a rudderless ship as it sails in turbulent waters of omissions and commissions is in the search of a new president.
The incumbent president, Cajie, is neither in his frame of mind nor health to carry on his responsibilities. He has made it very clear that he wants to step down. Moreover, Cajie has been saying that his life and that of his family members are being threatened in Dubai and in Goa. As such, Simon Varella, the entertainment and cultural secretary, is working overtime to salvage the sinking ship.
Simon has been in touch with a few prominent Goans to help him tide over the storm and steer the SMGC to safety and into the next year. He has contacted Nelson Silveira, a sports organiser and a person of clean character, with a request to head the SMGC under his tutelage and guidance. Simon has assured Nelson Silveira that he would extend all his support and would do the running around and that Nelson won’t have to do much if he accepts the president’s post.
Nelson Silveira is from Vanxim-Divar and has been promoting sports, especially in Dubai with his football team called Vanxim-Divar for many years now. He is a non-controversial figure and is liked by many people. His wife is from St. Stephen.
For the time being, Nelson Silveira has turned down Simon’s request and is not keen to be the president of SMGC.
There are also talks of closing down the SMGC as the priests of St. Mary’s church are upset and disappointed with its functioning. There is a suggestion that the church should not patronise any such ethnic organisations and all social and spiritual activities for the parisheners should be held under the aegis of the church, and not individual organisations.

Isn`t the services of Arwin Mesquita required at this stage????.
He is known to be a Guitar playing, self appointed "TROUBLESHOOTER",BLOGGER,ADVISOR OF GOAN AFFAIRS,AND WELL KNOWN SCOUNDREL OF GOA.
ANYWAY..Cajie will have enough photographs of him self ,with all and sundry, to fill all the walls in his house...."wall to wall &floor to wall!!!
as far as Simon Varella is concerned.....he needs a few lessons in TRUE COMEDY.
COMICAL as he may look...COMEDY he isn`t.
The things they do in the "NAME GOD", is truly scandalous.

  2. Nelson Silveira is better of staying in the sports arena, where honesty prevails. Do not get yourself get dragged into infested waters.

Hi Diogo F,:Wishing you a very Happy New Year 2011.
Hope you too are not on "FREE INTERNET", like me.
My £ 45-00 GBP / STERLING a month, falls from heaven like "HEAVENLY MANNA"....or SNOW
I agree with you.Nelson Silveria should not fall for the charms of Cajie or Simon Varella.
A better word is "infected" with power & greed .But infested will also be appropriate.

Simon Varella has a finger in all pies. He is after cheap publicity and wants his photographs taken at every event held in Dubai. He only promotes himself and will use Nelson Silveira for his own selfish needs.Simon was known as a scoundrel when he was in Goa University and he was like a leech who used to stick around to guys and gals who he thought were influential or politically connected.
Shame on Simon! Oh! by the way didn't he get any goodies to pocket this year from the St. Stephen social which he organises every year at the Astoria Hotel?
Our company got the donation appeal form from Simon the organiser of this function and I binned it.

  7. N. Ferns and Diogo,

We are the few lucky ones to have FREE INTERNET so why shuold we miss the chance of grabbing the Heavenly Manna. Some people are jealous of our success whether it comes free or for a price.

I know Nelson Silveira well. He is a honest and hard working man and I would advise him to stay away from SMGC. SMGC don't like honest people and in no time they will drag Nelson into their power and greed infected or sharks infested waters.

Why the St Mary's church dividing its folk like Goans, Mangloreans, Keralites and so on. The church belongs to all. These Goans think they are superior.

  9. Simon Varella is organising the St Stephen social dance not for the people of Zuem, but for his friends from Bombay and other places. Wonder what are they doing with the profits?

  11. Good decision by Mr.Nelson not to accept the offer from Simon, because knowing Mr. Nelson as a quiet and reserved fellow, Simon & Co. must have thought that they have got a Rubber Stamp or a puppet in the name of Mr. Nelson, whom they could manipulate and use to play their dirty games. By the way has anyone thought why this Mr. Simon is not taking over from Caje? The answer is Obvious, if he takes over how will he be able to play his dirty politics from behind (which he does in all organizations he is involved with, shooting from others shoulders). He has got only two rules 1)Divide and Rule and 2)Self evevation by hook or by crook. He is a living example of Narcissism. He can only play from BEHIND(****HOLE).
