MARGAO: The sessions court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to Sayeeda Sheikh and her son Liyakat, who had approached the court apprehending arrest by the police for allegedly ill-treating her daughter-in-law.
Sameera Sheikh alleged that the accused had assaulted her before driving her out of the house on Decmber 29, 2010. She also alleged that the accused had deprived her of her jewellery and money.
The police had opposed the application filed by the accused. The court granted bail to the duo and stated that in the event of their arrest, each of the accused should furnish a bond of 10,000. (TNN)
