MARGAO: The Cuncolim police on Monday, booked an offence against three persons, including a lady, on charges of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl from Cuncolim. Police sources informed that the minor victim's mother complained to the police that three accused persons - Dharmendra Kumar, 22, a native of Bihar; Laxmi Jadhav, a native of Sirsi and presently residing near IDC, Cuncolim; and her husband Shankar, took away her minor daughter from her lawful custody on Sunday afternoon.
Police suspect a love affair between the victim and Dharmendra Kumar, and that the other two accused persons helped them elope. The police have booked the accused under Sections 365 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8 of Goa Children's Act. Police are on the lookout for the accused persons.
