GOA GOVT DESIRES TO BRING ADVOCATE GENERAL’S FEES ON PAR WITH MAHARASTRA, GUJARAT & KARNATAKA

PANJIM: The Goa Government desires to review the fee structure of the Advocate General of Goa taking into consideration the fees being paid to the Advocate Generals of Maharastra, Gujarat and Karnataka.  The Law Department has informed Adv. Aires Rodrigues under the Right to Information Act that information on the fee structure of the Advocate Generals of Maharastra and Gujarat has been received and that the information from Karnataka is awaited.
Adv. Rodrigues has been informed that over the last two years three reminders having been sent to the Karnataka Law Secretary seeking information on their Advocate General’s fee structure.
Accusing the Chief Minister of shielding and pampering Advocate General Subodh Kantak, Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today stated that the Goa Government was not serious to review the fee structure of the Advocate General
Adv. Rodrigues has over the last five years been campaigning against the exorbitant fees being paid to the Advocate General of Goa Mr. Subodh Kantak.
After Adv. Rodrigues highlighted the issue, the Goa Government revised the Advocate General’s fee structure. Advocate General Subodh Kantak who was earlier being paid around 10 to 14 lakhs a month is now being paid Rs. 5 lakhs a month.
Claiming that Mr. Subodh Kantak who is not even a Senior Counsel is India’s highest paid Advocate General, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that the Advocate Generals of Maharastra, Karnataka and Gujarat on the average are never paid more that Rs 50, 000 a month.
Stating that the Advocate Generals of Maharastra, Karnataka and Gujarat appear in the High Court only in constitutional and important matters, Adv. Rodrigues has accused Mr. Subodh Kanatk of appearing in all sorts of matters just because he is paid Rs 8000/- every time he stands up in the High Court.
Adv. Rodrigues has stated that Mr. Subodh Kantak who has been paid over five crores over the last five years is earning more than that of the Governor, Chief Minister, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and even the President of India.
After Adv. Aires Rodrigues highlighted the exorbitant fees being paid to the Advocate General of Goa, Mr. Subodh Kantak initiated two defamation proceedings against Adv. Rodrigues which from the JMFC’s court moved to the High Court and later to the Supreme Court of India. While one defamation case filed by Subodh Kantak against Adv. Aires Rodrigues has been dismissed the other is pending with Subodh Kantak claiming Rs 15 crores by way of compensation for defamation.

  1. Leaving aside the fees charged paid to the AG, today the High Court is full-time engaged in cases against the goverment for attrocities commited against its own citizens, land, aquisition sewerage, garbage, mega projects, environmental damage, inwanted bridges, etc.
To fight these case the AG and him team of  bunghole advocates get paid really hefty from our money.

In return the differment NGO's who pay thru their noses from generous donantions to the advocates who in the end do some sort of fixing with the AG. (YOU SCRATCH ME HERE -- I'LL SCRATCH YOU THERE DEALS)

End result :-  The Court in all cases tke a decision with this in mind :YOU HAVE ELECTED YOUR GOVERMENT  , SO WHATEVER  THEY DO NOW IS WHAT YOU WANTED, AND WE HAVE FULL FAITH THAT THEY DO THIS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF PEOPLE = WHICH MEANS IF THE GOVERMMENT FEEDS PISON TO US WE ARE TO THINK THAT IT IS IN OUR BEST INTEREST .
I CAHALLENGE ALL THESE NGO'S WHETHE THEY HAVE EVER GOT A SATISFACTORY JUDGEMENT.
