PANJIM: A lifeguard had to wage a different kind of a fight to 'save' some belongings of a group of tourists on Colva beach from a thief, but he doggedly chased him and retrieved them, despite being brutally assaulted. The lifeguard, performing his duty on Friday evening, heard some tourists raising an alarm as an unknown youth was running away with their bag containing their belongings.
The lifeguard engaged by Drishti Special Response Services for life-saving operations chased the youth for a few hundred metres and managed to draw level with him. But as he grabbed the youth, the latter slapped him and broke free.
The lifeguard chased him again and managed to nab him, but the youth attacked the lifeguard with a broken bottle and jabbed him in the back. The lifeguard suffered multiple injuries on his posterior and was rushed to Hospicio hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the crowd gathered and caught the youth and handed him over to the police. The lifeguard had to be administered multiple stitches due to the severity of the injury caused by the jagged weapon.
They should have killed the thief on the spot.
ReplyDeleteDon't think anyone should have this attitude on petty thieves.
ReplyDeleteIf you want a petty thief not to thieve again, break one of his legs in pieces.. That way you do not have murder on your hands.
where were the cops?
ReplyDeleteThat is how the Portuguese did it.
