FOR THE EYES OF GOANS ONLY

THESE TWO LETTERS ARE SEND BY SHYAM SAWANT, PONDA BY EMAIL
Help the migrants by Flavia Sequeira, Raia
I think every migrant should be given a ration card and an electoral photo identity card especially if they are poor, sick or uneducated. Such people need help. We need to reach out to them. The disadvantaged are the salt of the earth, the light of the world. We need to welcome them with open arms. The government must help them and they will be duly rewarded in return.
No rogues, only new faces by Juliano Baptista, Cortalim
I support Franco Fernandes’ plea for a few new faces in all elected seats in administration.‘Elect new faces,’(Herald, 20 Sept). However, I would like to point out that the emphasis is just not on the new, but less corrupt and efficient administrators. Replacing one rogue with a new one does not help.
Past experience has proved that the common man will sell the votes of his entire family to one corrupt politician, in order to obtain a job in the Gulf countries for one member of his family. This “chalta hai” attitude has resulted in scams of a massive magnitude and made outright wastage of public funds. Goans should learn to decipher between good and evil and vote a good government. than succumb to cash rich election budgets of our politicians. Hopefully, the village groups will field new candidates and win a few seats in the next Vidhan Sabha elections. The work for this must commence now.

  1. Why doesn't Flavia Sequeira feed the migrants herself and give her house to them, by welcoming them with open arms. That way she can reach them. People like flavia should be driven out of Goa first along with her migrant friends. She should give her house as a goodwill to the migrants.

  2. It looks like Flavia is comfortable with her ghanti friends. It looks like she is going to invite all the migrants who do the labour work as well others to come and stay with her. How big is your house Flavia?

  3. Very funny lady! Isnt it enough that the migrants have looted us the Goans? Flavia should go to Karnataka or Maharashtra and live with the migrants in their home town and can open arms for them there.

  5. Better still flavia should give up her property and house for the migrant's Kabrastan. They are in need of Kabrastan and are looking around Raia. Your house and property would be ideal for that since you love the migrants so much.

You people just comment. That too only against Mickey mouse, Leitao, cowmuth, pilot, etc., etc.
Have you forgotten that poor Al les Squirrel has no migrant votes to prop him up next election? There is therefore need for one 'Nagar' at Raia.

  7. Flavia, if you do really care, please sell your property and get the money and go to Mumbai to help all of them over there! It may not sound very Christian, but charity begins at home. We have lots of issues to be taken care of in Goa first. Do you not realize these migrants will forget you and kick you out once they have a chance. Please don't fool yourself or all of us. Please do your charity in quiet. Move to the slums of mumbai and ask the billionaires on Forbes list there to donate to your charity, and good luck with that! Please keep in mind, the United States is the richest country….. are you then saying that they should throw open the doors to everyone that comes knocking? Please wake up to reality. Eat one meal and give the other two to your migrant neighbors since you care so much. Goa has taken more than our share, we are already outnumbered 3 to 1 with non-Goans in some parts of Goa…..We have done more than our share.....Our young Goan people are not even having children cause they can't afford to buy a house, do you care? All these migrants should stop having too much fun and stop making children to be a burden to us. We don't burden them!

  9. These so called Migrants were tolerated by Goans after the "so called liberation of Goa", never knowing they would be a menace to the Goan life and culture with their crime and filthy way of leaving. The governments are to be blamed for the "Nagars" that have sprouted all over Goa. My ancestors come from Ganpoga in Raia (Raikars are known as tigers and i still have my tiger in me) I certainly would not like to see Raia renamed as "Raia Nagar" that to goes for the rest of Goa.
No rogues, only new faces by Juliano Baptista, Cortalim, We Goans need new faces to lead Goan Politics, as the author states we not only need new faces but with honesty and unconnected to corrupt politicians. Better a new honest party by the people for the people, Unity is a must and through Niz Goenkars we can achieve it, it is a site for the better of Goa.

  10. @diago... I had always said that we need to form a new party of the Goans, for the Goans and by the Goans. Except for the United Goans, we never had a party which was truly Goan. The MGP was formed to serve Maharashtra. The Congress raped Goa, and the BJP divided the Goans and drove a large chunk of the Goan Christians out of Goa. The Congress is using Goa as a place of pleasure for its uncouth leaders from North India and are treating Goans as pimps and prostitutues. The Congress leaders in Goa are indeed pimps and they are happy as long as they get their commission.
To save Goa and to form a strong party we need the support of all Goans living abroad.
We should first control the media - TV, Radio and Print. Propaganda with fear works. See how Goebelles used it in Germany.
Secondly, we need to form cooperatives of Goans to run businesses and force the non-Goans out of this sector.
Thirdly, we need to unite--- Hindus, Christians and Goan Muslims. Only unity can achieve victory for us. We may have to make a lot of sacrifices, but without pain there is no gain. If we take the first step now, one day we will reach our goal of liberating our Goa from the grip of the 40 chors.
Viva Goa, Long live Goan unity

  11. Bebdo, you do have some really good ideas. The urgency in implementing something to stop the menace is so important, and we need to do it NOW! I see again in today paper corrupt politicians playing their games to gain votes. I am afraid they are going to trick the common people again and again, and loot our Goa. We are in serious trouble. I know a lot of NIR Goans have already given up on Goa, it is so said. Even in my own family they say you cannot beat the system. India is so filthy corrupt...look at the commonwealth games, the first time in history it may be cancelled. I hope it gets cancelled, I don't mean to an antinationalist, but we need to start cleaning up this country or else we will never move ahead. Look at the pedestrian bridge that fell down...shameful! You know that corruption had a big part in it that shortly materials had to be used to make up for the money and put the people's safety at risk. We vilify the Portuguese, but look at the bridges/buildings they built centuries and centuries ago and are still standing. Wake up people, it is important to take the log our of one's eye before pointing out the stick in someone else’s'. You are so right Bebdo, they want Goa to be a heinous playground for the rich....this is our home!…we need to stand up and say NO!

  12. @Trevor... tell your NRI friends and family members that Rome was not build in a day. Romulus and Remus laid their foundation for the empire on a small patch of a village, with hardly less than 200 people living it.
What is required is a vision and to follow it with your eyes open, with motivation, determination and zeal. I'll give you an example, if you have set your eyes on a girl and want to marry her, you will marry her despite the objections of her family member. Why? This is for you to answer.

  13. Right Bebdo, we need to get our Goa back. And right, Trevor we need to stand up for our Goa. BUT HOW? Should all of us outside Goa return home? Or should we let the few Goans left back home handle it? Sarcastic Flavia, point taken. United, we stand. Divided, we fall. Viva Goa. Viva Goan. Viva Niz Goenkar,Menino.
