PWD MINISTER SUPPORTS JOSEPH SILVA

MARGAO: The PWD Minister Mr. Churchill Alemao, addressed a meeting in favour of Mr. Joseph Silva, a candidate fielded by the GPCC General Secretary Mr Vijay Sardesai in the Margao Municipal Ward No. 3.
Earlier a fortnight ago, the new office of Joseph Silva was inaugurated by Mr. Joaquim Alemao, the Urban development minister of the state of Goa and on Wednesday a meeting chaired by Mr. Silva was addressed by the PWD minister in favour of Silva, appealing those present and the voters of Ward 3 to choose Mr. Silva as their representative by electing him.
Mr. Alemao hailed Silva as a very humble and illustrious and a very helpful person especially to the downtrodden. He also said that Silva was the right candidiate for the post.
“Many people today claims credit for the development work in Fatorda, but the fact remains that no development can take place if the same is not approved by the Chief Minister and other ministers”, he asserted.
He also said that the developments in the Fatorda that have taken place for the last 3 years were done by him and the Chief Minister of Goa Mr. Digamber Kamat at the instance of the GPCC General Secretary Mr. Sardesai.
Mr. Sardesai, quoting his defeat in the last Assembly elections as an example spoke to the people urging them not to split the votes as it would only help the BJP to come to power. He also brushed aside the rumours of the fields will be used for setting up a Kabrastan after harvesting and asserting that the Congress government is behind the candidature of Mr. Silva.
Others who spoke at the meeting were the muslim leader Akbar Mulla, ST leader Joseph Vas besides Joseph Silva and others.

GOA`S POLITICIANS WITH NASTY BEHAVIOUR by N. Fernandes, London

Goans awoke today to read in newspapers and watch on TV the shameful and disgraceful incident between Mickky and Jose Philip.
These 2 warring idiots are meant to lead by good and exemplary example.
This incident is WORSE THAN childish.
What sort of example is this to the Younger Goan generations?
It seems like Mickky got well "HUMMERED"....oops!.sorry correction "HAMMERED".
Both these Politicians belong to the same Party (NCP) a.k.a. (NATIONAL CROOKS PARTY).However looking at it from another angle, it seems like, it is a fragmented Party. Both these guys are looking for domination of both the Party and Turf.
Seems like Mickky is on his last legs. With the shame of a suicide, fraud, immigration scams, money
laundering cases against him, he is still looking for a reputation and doing anything to keep his position.
A lot of Goans were under the impression he was going to be in Delhi for a Month.
Should Mickky lose at the Elections, I can assure many readers, that his inflated ego will not be allowed to be dented, and having being pushed to the edge, will start committing, more very very fatal & serious crimes.
Mickky hates to lose. He is a Psychopath. I do not even believe if Mickky will understand the word Psychopath. His friends and even doctor will be too afraid to let him know that he is a Psychopath. Perhaps, to Mickky, "Psychopath” means Psychedelic Music of the sixties. Perhaps that is why he wore a bandana and earrings. In a BBC article he stated he played the bass Guitar. I am sure his Bass guitar was a piece of string tied to an old "tea chest/ box". I am sure many older Goans will remember this type of bass instrument.
Hopefully if Mickky can read English, than Niz-Goenkar will have done him a great favour & will be the only organisation that will tell him, the truth, that he is a raving Looney &”PSYCHOPATH”. Whether his is able of understanding that is another matter
In the morning and in Law Courts he states his Bank Accounts are frozen unfairly. His family is starving .By the evening and always notably at night he prowls around South Goa, dishing out laundered and extorted money, or gambling his way with it or paying for diseased prostitutes.
Jose Philip is no better. He too seems like a demented idiot and thug and an equivalent of Mickky Pacheco. He needs his brother and sister in the Municipality to allow him to pursue corrupt deals.
I do not believe this incident is over. It has only just begun. Both these guys know that the Goa Police are an ineffective bunch of Khaki clad, lathi holding imbeciles. They are well versed in dealing with Goa Police.
Mr Digu Kamat must be having a quiet laugh at these NCP idiots. However he should also remember he is also an” Impotent” Chief Minister. He just sits in a rocking chair in his veranda and rocks away.
Both these 2 MLA`s should be thrown out of the Legislature for bringing it into disrepute and disqualified. However, I doubt that will ever happen. Instead they will be given “MEDALS OF HONOUR” by Digu and felicitated on their Birthdays in all the Newspapers with grand advertisements.
This I am afraid is Goa Today. It is controlled by a bunch of thieving and extremely corrupt scoundrels. But do not lose hope. These in-fights between Politicians is a good omen. The more they kill each other the better.
Also remember Niz-Goenkar will fearlessly speak the truth about these inept Politicians. It is a gradual process and results are beginning to show.
Some in Dubai and in Goa too, are trying to close down the Niz- Goenkar site. There is nothing stopping us from starting another site. VIVA Niz-Goenkar

HIPPIE WHO DISCOVERED ANJUNA BEACH IN 1965 DIES IN GOA

PANJIM:  Yertward Mazamanian alias Eddie, a hippie who discovered Goa's Anjuna beach, died in the coastal state last week, his friends said.  The 85-year-old, known as Eight Finger Eddie, was an American expat of Armenian ancestry, who discovered Anjuna beach for rest of the world in 1965 and stayed here till he breathed last on October 18.
Tony Almeida, whose father Joe was the first person to meet Edie at Anjuna, said that he had actually come to Colva beach in South Goa.
"He moved northwards after hearing from the locals about this stretch of shore," Almeida said.
In the 1960s, few beatniks and hippies travelled from Western Europe towards South Asia. Eddie was the first among them.
"Eddie and his companion came to Anjuna after walking through dense forest in 1965. It was a place at the foothill overlooking Arabian Sea," Tony told agency today.
Eddie also coined the idea of Anjuna's flea market in 1975 which initially began as a place to barter goods. The flea market still exists at Anjuna although it has been turned into a cluster of shops.
The page devoted to him on Facebook has been receiving comments from all across the globe. Eddie's fans also had live streaming of his funeral on website Blogtv.com on October 18. - PTI

INDIAN ATHELETE DID US PROUD by Nisser Dias

Now the government should provide for them.
At the recent concluded Common Wealth Games in Delhi, Indian athletes in various disciplines brought laurels to the country by winning almost 100 medals. This count of medal is the highest ever in India and by this huge achievement, the young athletes of this country has sent a message to the government that they too can compete with the world’s best and bring back the honours for their motherland.
As recently as maybe two years back we were thrilled that Abhinav Bindra won the first ever gold medal for the country during the last Olympics. This tally was further raised by Sushil. But at the CWG 2010 games at New Delhi, new talents emerged taking every one by surprise. Everyone was expecting the same athletes to win their gold and a few other medal. But the countrymen were stunned by the performance of athletes in various other disciplines that our country stood tall in the second place of the gold medal tally. My hats off to the athletes, their parents and the coaches who put in hard work over the years to make the world and more importantly our own government to realize that there is no dearth of sporting talent in India.
It is high time that the Union government and the state governments appreciate the efforts of the athletes and become conscious of the need to allocate much required funds for various sports, infrastructure and other needs of the athletes. The government should also specify the heads under which the funds can be utilized simply because our politicians have the tendencies to utilize major chunk of allocation of funds for building infrastructure because this is where either the minister or the sports director or someone down the line get their commission and what is left for the athletes is just pittance.
The fallout of such a policy is that parents and family members of the athletes have to slog it out to provide for the children to bring out the best in them. This mindset of the government has to change and instead organize coaching camps to tap the talent. And once a athletes is noticed or rather identified, the government should go all out and provide the facilities to bring out the best in the child without burdening the parents because when an athletes shines at the international sporting event it is pride not only for the parents but even bigger pride for the state and the country.
The need of the hour is to ensure the current medal winners do not feel slighted after the games are over and that they will be remembered only at the time of next national or international sporting events. The government should ensure that their future is secure, that when the athletes surpass the age of competition that they will either be employed as a government servant or the government will facilitate, subsidize or finance them if the athletes want to set up their own academies in the field of their discipline. This is besides other incentives in cash and properties that the national or state governments doles out to the athletes on their return home. This will send a clear message to grooming athletes that the governments be it national or state has a policy in place to ensure their well being and that they will not be left in the lurch or left to fend for themselves.
This is the biggest fear of athletes that the government does not appreciate their efforts nor cares for them. And this has a ring of truth to it because Indian ace sprinter gold medalists Pillavullakand Thekkeparambil Usha better known as P T Usha was not even invited for the opening ceremony of the recently concluded Common Wealth Games.
But Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Congress party president Mrs. Sonia Gandhi extended their courtesy to the medal winning athletes and personally met and acknowledged their contribution to sports in the country. But it should not just remain at this, much more needs to be done to boost the morale of sportsmen and women in this country. They should be honoured publicly. On the eve of Common Wealth Games national news channel CNN-IBN honoured forgotten sports heroes of the country and they had similar thing to express, wherein they said that they do not require money from the governments but require recognizance of their achievement, which the governments failed to but were accomplished by CNN-IBN
To start with Indian athletes should have access to all the world class facilities made available at the Common Wealth Games. Sports Federations and Associations should be invited to organize national level meets, tournaments, events, matches etc at these facilities throughout the year. Sports infrastructure and facilities in states should be revamped. Good coaches should be employed by the government to coach, train and instruct athletes on the finer nuances of the sport, check on their fitness levels. Such measures will go a long way in building our athletes for future.
As of now sports in India seems to be in a disarray with our youth taking interest in sports only at the school or college level and then giving up and the reason being no future prospects are underlined by the government. Those few parents who encourage their children have to dig deeper into their pockets to sustain the needs of their child or children, as the government’s dictum is -- you first get the medals for the country only then it will recognize your talent and maybe then think of contributing to the expenses incurred. This scenario has to stop immediately and instead, national as well as state governments should spend money on identifying talent in sports and training them.

AIRES DECLINES TO ACCEPT HIGH COURT NOTICE

PANJIM: In yet another twist to the 2004 Ribandar Church case saga, Adv. Aires Rodrigues today declined to accept the High Court notice issued to him in connection with the petition filed by Crime Branch Police Inspector Sunita Sawant challenging his acquittal in the case.
Bombay High Court Judge Nelson Britto had directed that notice be issued to Adv. Aires Rodrigues and the same was sent to the Old Goa Police to be served on Adv. Rodrigues.
When the Old Goa Police today tried to serve the notice on Adv. Aires Rodrigues at his Ribandar residence, Adv. Rodrigues declined to accept the notice as he was not the Respondent named in the notice.
Adv. Rodrigues told the police that he was unable to accept a notice which was not on his name. He told the police that his name was ‘Aires Rodrigues’ while the High Court notice was addressed to ‘Aries Rodrigues’
Adv. Rodrigues told the police that if the notice was for him they would have to get the name corrected or look for ‘Aries Rodrigues’ they may be looking for.
The Old Goa Police today sent the notice unserved back to the High Court registry. The Court registry will now have to place the matter before the High Court for further orders.
The High Court may direct Police Inspector Sunita Sawant to give the correct name and then get it rectified by a fresh notice. This will take at least two more hearings which means it will cost the tax payer at least another Rs 14,000 by way of fees of the two Special Public Prosecutors appointed by the Goa Government to prosecute Adv. Aires Rodrigues in the High Court petition filed by Inspector Sunita Sawant.
Sunita Sawant’s petition follows the dismissal of the earlier revision petition filed by the Government against Adv. Aires Rodrigues. It was dismissed by the Sessions Judge Mrs. Vijaya Pol on 4th June this year while upholding Panaji Chief Judicial Magistrate Mr.P.M.Shinde’s order discharging Adv. Rodrigues from the 2004 Ribandar Church case. Judge Pol in her judgment had stated that Adv. Rodrigues was rightly discharged. Earlier Panaji Chief Judicial Magistrate Mr. P.M.Shinde had on 22nd December last year directed that further proceedings be stopped against Adv. Rodrigues in the charge sheet filed against him in connection with the 2004 Ribandar Church incident.
Along with Adv. Aires Rodrigues, 14 other Ribandar residents have been charge sheeted in the case including an 80 year old widow who is now bedridden. The charge sheet had been filed in connection with an incident that allegedly took place in 2004 at the Ribandar Church premises when Adv. Aires Rodrigues was leading an agitation demanding action against the then Ribandar Parish priest Fr. Newton Rodrigues for having allegedly molested a 13 year old girl from Ribandar.

ST. MARY'S GOAN SODALITY-DUBAI: THE SPINELESS APOLOGY & ARROGANCE by N. Fernandes, London

Many readers and commentators would have recently read and heard about the disgraceful actions and functioning of St.Mary’s Goan Sodality, Located in Dubai. For whatever intent and purpose, only known to its secretive Management, this organisation uses the Religious banner St Mary’s, uses the word Sodality which is to indicate it is a Church body and finally “Goan”.
Having read the views of several commentators and following further research into this organisation I am in a position to tell you more about them.
This came about following the plight of a poor Goan boy Jackson Coutinho, who was sadly taken seriously ill just a few days after his arrival in Dubai from Goa. Very sadly he has now passed away.
You may also recall that the Parish Priest Fr. Freddy was away on holiday. The Executive members of this Sodality, organised a fund raising appeal .The appeal was published in Newspapers in the Middle East, and picked – up by mainstream Newspapers and its regional Satellite Newspapers / Journals in India, Goa and The U.K. The article was written by Mr Praveen Viegas.
Praveen Viegas, as many Goans will know by now, is alleged to be the ex-mouthpiece of Mr Churchill Alemao`s, one of Goa`s biggest daylight thief.
Strangely, and definitely very suspiciously, no appeal was made through the St Marys Sodality`s Website, until their motives were questioned and exposed by Niz_Goenkar and other Journals. On the 5th October an article did appear on their website…but only requesting “Prayers”. The request for money was absent. Why? This appeal for funds was to be collected in the name of SMGS and not in the name of private individuals. I have heard the word LOGISTICS mentioned, but never LOGIC
Telephones Nos. were also published for the appeal. These belonged to Maria and Navita.
These 2 ladies perhaps thought they were going to become Saintly Samaritans and “Angels of Mercy”. However with hindsight, they discovered that their corrupt menfolk led them astray and brought them shame & disrepute. In their ever growing despair and fear of loss of their reputations, they brought in a notorious and foul mouthed loudmouth called Judy Viegas. Judy`s fiery reputation and “Steam Roller” attitude and arrogance, and belief that she is a very superior Goan Lady soon backfired on her, that she resorted to making an apology on Niz-Goenkar Blogsite. Her apology was as empty, as an empty vessel that is proverbially known to make only loud noises.
Cajetan Coelho, finally and after much back room discussion amongst his henchmen, made a brief and half-hearted apology.
However many would have thought the matter ended there. Oh No!!
I am now in a position to tell readers of Niz-GOENKAR that the original apology was written by another beefcake monster of St Mary’s Sodality called Jude Pereira .The email sent to Niz-Goenkar with the 2-3 sentence apology, was sent via Jude Pereira’s email on behalf of Cajetan Coelho. From this I can only surmise that Cajetan is unable to write or is semi-literate. His long silence would also indicate some literary handicap.
This guy called Jude Pereira fancies himself as some “BIG SHOT” or “Goan Sheikh”. He has acquired this arrogant attitude from his posting as the General Manager of an IT Solutions company called Nanjgel.
NANJGEL has its Head office in Belgium. I am sure they will be interested in the Character, extra-curricular activities and background of Jude Pereira, the cornered “RAT” and “SILLY BILLY” of SMGS.

This arrogant “numpty” Jude Pereira, is under the belief that he has substantial and” ALMIGHTY” powers to close down the Niz- Goenkar website. He has made threats to some of our staunch Niz Goenkar supporters and team members and  believes that we will succumb to him. Perhaps he has got his thinking from Digamber Kamat who believes he can shut down Facebook & Orkut.
This “Numpty” Jude Pereira, who is a resident of Miramar –Goa, must have also learnt some of his thuggery & Goondaism methods, from his confidante, neighbour and another fraudulent land grabbing thief of Goa, Babush Monseratte.
I hope Mr Jude Pereira knows the difference between a “WEBSITE” and a “BLOGSITE”. I now challenge this numpty Mr Jude Pereira to sue me for “Libel”. He should put his money where his mouth is and prove his almightiness.
My Lawyers and the Queens Counsel, along with the ROYAL COURT OF JUSTICE (LONDON) await his move. He should now demonstrate his General Managerial competencies.
The Niz-Goenkar site is a UK based Blogsite and comes under the Jurisdiction of the UK Law courts. So I await Jude to sue me in the UK.
I hope Fr. Freddy, the Parish Priest has been made aware of the antics of these St Marys Goan Sodality Board Members and sympathisers .In my opinion this house of God that should embrace all Goans, has chosen to only serve a few and exclude the many .
In the UK, Canada and East Africa, Goans of every denomination are included in all functions. There is no bias applied.
So the ball is now in the Court of Mr. Jude Pereira. He has a right to respond to this comment/ opinion.
If he is unable to do so within a reasonable time period, he should get off his “High Horse” and get back down to earth.
We Goans and Niz-Goenkars are not his paid servants and we have no intention to be subersevient to him, we will not buckle under threats and will continue to treat his numptiness with disdain.
So, Mr. Jude Pereira, G.M Of Nanjgel in Dubai , I await your move, or just get out of making useless and empty threats.

MICKKY PACHECO RUNS AWAY FROM VASCO AFTER PHYSICALLY BEATEN UP by P. Cruz, Vasco Da Gama

VASCO 26th October 22:00: Today at around 21:30 hrs Micky Mouse kept meeting of all the Vasco Candidates who are opposing Revenue Minister’s Wife Nanny D’Souza and brother Pascoal D’Souza, candidature in the Mormugao Municipality Elections.  Mickky has agreed that he was beaten up by Philip D'Souza and the reason he gave was far from truth.  Mickky got good beating because he had gone from Benaulim to Vasco to support candidates against the wife and brother of Philip.  Mickky tried to play a game but failed.
These two candidates are contesting in Mangor-Vasco and are opposed by Anita Chopdekar and Anil Chopdekar with the support of Mauvin Godhino, Mickey Mouse, Fr. Costa, Goa Fishing Association Members and ex MLA Simon D’Souza etc. The venue of the meeting was at Maharaja, Vasco at 21:00 hrs and Mickey Mouse was present there with lot of people and was about to start the meeting.
Then Mr. Jose Philip entered with his supporters inside the hotel and he asked Mickey what he is doing over in Vasco. Mickey Mouse just answered him by shivering in his pants saying “I was just invited by them”. Then Jose Philip asked him why he is against him and being of same party, he is his boss and when he is doing something political activity he has to inform him as he is not authorized to do it in his Vasco constituency. Mickey was tight lipped and just disappeared in his car and started verbal accusation with Jose Philip. Looking at this the supporters from Vasco of Jose Philip damaged his entire car and Mickey Mouse was helpless. The police came and intervened between and Mickey took his car to the police station. Jose Philip like a cool customer went walking to the police station and sat in front of the police. Some of Mickey supporter were giving statements in the police station and Jose Philip was smiling.
First thing was that Mickky was physically beaten up badly by the supporters of Jose Philip D'Souza and if he did not run away and hid nearby it seemed that like he would have landed in a serious conditon in the ICU once again but only this time with a real genuine sickness of getting bashed by people. That proves the saying the bigger they are the harder they fall.
Mickey we do not support Jose Philip but he has done the right thing for you as you deserved it long back. This is Vasco and Jose Philip is from Kariawaddo and he has Mangor Hill goondas with him also. You were doing these things for other people when you were in power now it’s your turn to bear up based on the deeds you have done. Remember in my comments during herald I had warned you not to show your things outside Benaulim, Colva that is your den and this is Vasco the king is different. Where was Mauvin Godhino when they attacked you? He must be hiding in the Vasco Market.
The Vasco police did not entertain Mickky and so Mauvin asked him to come over to Chicalim police station of his constituency
22:15 hrs: Just received more information that the supporters of Jose Philip caught Mickey Mouse red handed distributing money to the candidates

POLICE FORCE DEPLOYED IN MIGRANT DOMINATED AREAS IN MARGAO

MARGAO: The police have finally made their presence felt in the slums and basties of the migrants of the Commercial Capital, with campaigning for the Margao Municipal polls reaching a feverish pitch.  Upon instructions of the Returning Officer, Johnson Fernandes, the Margao police has deployed police atop Moti Dongor, the Azad Nagar, Khareband and other places to instill confidence amongst the inhabitants as all out efforts are on to woo the migrants to vote in favour of particular candidates.
Margao PI Santosh Desai said the police has made their presence felt in the slum areas of the city from Monday so as not to take any chances on the law and order front with election tempo rising in the last few days.
Though the police has not yet identified sensitive and hyper sensitive polling booths in the city, the police has deployed the force well in advance to send a message loud and clear to the miscreants that the law will come down heavily on anyone fomenting trouble.
Interestingly, the police has commenced a drive, seeking good behaviour bonds from anti-social elements to ensure a peaceful poll on October 31. “This is a routine exercise undertaken by the police during elections. We have identified a number of anti-social elements in the city. Good behaviour bonds will be taken from the anti-social elements”, PI Desai said.
The police decision to deploy police in the slums and basties comes against the backdrop of the emerging situation atop Moti Dongor. Rival groups have blamed the police for arresting a local resident at the behest of the powers that be.
When contacted, PI Desai said that the police arrested one person not in connection with the polls, but for an incident that occurred at a sporting event.
“The police have arrested the person under section 151 of the Cr P C following the incident. It has got nothing to do with the Municipal polls”, he said. However, groups opposed to the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has blamed the police for arrested the person on flimsy grounds, adding that the powers have started acting at the behest of the powers that be. WOMEN TO FIGHT OUT IN WARD SEVEN OF VALPOI: MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

VALPOI: Seven candidates will battle out in ward 7 of the Valpoi municipality which is reserved for a woman. Interestingly, all candidates are focusing on Sayyed nagar with the sole agenda of constructing a water tank, which has been the main issue, every election.
It may be recalled that the ward was earlier represented by late Daud Ali Aga and after his death the seat remained unfilled for nearly 18 months.
Voters of the ward say that during this period none of the aspiring candidates bothered to visit them and find out their grievances.
Sayyed nagar has problems like poor street lighting, garbage disposal issue and most importantly, irregular water supply which is round the year. These civic problems are the main issues on which all the candidates are aggressively trying to woe the voters of this area. Interestingly, this seat has always gone in favour of a Muslim candidate. This time there are 4 candidates belonging to the same community while 3 are from other community which means there is a huge possibility of vote division.
With the second phase of campaigning being completed, candidate Ms Fahmida Khan said that the response from the voters has been overwhelming. Ms Khan, who is a teacher by profession, is representing the ward for the second time.
"I have been getting positive response from all sections of electorate. Issues like irregular water supply, poor street lighting and unemployment have been brought to my attention by the voters. This shows that people see me as a deserving candidate," she said.
She also has backing of youth organisations and mahila mandals, who are also doing their bit to garner support for her.
Another candidate, Ms Anisa Khan, who is confident of her victory, claims to have support from all the voters of ward 7. Ms Khan, who is a member of a mahila mandal and has been actively working for the last three years told this daily that this platform (mandal) motivated her to join local politics with the sole aim of serving the people of this ward.
"Being not involved in any profession I can fully dedicate myself to my voters," she said adding that with the support of her electorate she could easily solve all the issues in the ward through a proper channel.
Social worker and businesswoman, Ms Roshan Dessai, who is also in the fray informed that ward 7 is reeling under a lot of problems. Sayyed nagar in particular, being the worst area she said that the voters have been complaining of neglect. (NT)

SRINIWAS DEMPO AND PETER VAZ NEED TO TEAM UP by Adv. Aires Rodrigues, Ribandar

No one sided match is entertaining. So the closely fought Goa Football Association elections were thrilling in every aspect. Sriniwas Dempo is a very mature, charismatic and balanced person who will be an invaluable asset and will give the game the much needed professional lift.
However, there has to be a mechanism in place so that Sriniwas Dempo can team up with Peter Vaz to take Goan Football to greater heights. Tonito Botelho whose knowledge, expertise and contribution to the game knows no bounds is another asset Goan football cannot afford to be without. We need to be vigilant to ensure that politicians and persons who have done damage to the game are shown their place. Politicians also infect the sports bodies with political rot. Sriniwas Dempo will have to ensure that they do not stifle or remote control him. Sports is one arena that definitely has to be above Politics. And we all know on what grounds! With politics comes corruption, and we have seen it all.

LOOTERS OF GOA & ILLITERATE GOON POLITICIANS WANT TO BUY FOUNDERS OF NIZ GOENKAR by Bebdo

Looters of Goa and illiterate-goonda politicians want to buy founders of Niz Goenkars for one crore each
A well-known pimp of the illiterate-goonda politicians and the real estate mafia in Goa has called some of the founder members of Niz Goenkars and has offered to buy all the five founders of Niz Goenkar for one crore each. His condition for the offer is to close down Niz Goenkar site and in case that if it is not possible to shut down the site then to write only positive news about the illiterate-goonda politicians of Goa and not to highlight any real estate projects, especially the mega projects.
His other condition is to stop Niz Goenkar’s activities in Goa.
Of late, Niz Goenkars have questioned the Goan authorities with proof on various irregularities that are being conducted by the corrupt officials.
Niz Goenkars voice is now heard on the local TV channels and many Goans are now coming forward to support the cause Niz Goenkar is espousing for i.e. to save Goa from the corrupt, illiterate-goonda politicians and to stop non-Goans from buying property and businesses in Goa.
Niz Goenkar is also in the process of putting by billboards and hoarding in Goa, and are planning a running advertisement about Niz Goenkar on Prudent TV
This political broker, who is well aware of all this, tried to reason that because of the negative publicity which Niz Goenkar is creating abroad, especially in the Gulf, UK, US, France, Portugal and Switzerland, the real estate and tourism is suffering in Goa. He mentioned that the mega project developers are very much alarmed at the expose of their misdeeds all over the world, thanks to Niz Goenkar.
He said the non-Goan builders are suffering huge losses since foreigners have stopped investing in the mega projects and rich Indians too are reluctant to deal with them.
He reasoned that if the non-Goans don’t invest in Goa then there won’t be any revenue and there won’t be any business for the local people.
He tried to explain that there are more than 2,000 Goan real estate agents who make a living only by selling properties to foreigners and non-Goans. He said we should think about them, and added: “They are also Goan. Why you guys are trying to deprive them of their livelihood”.
When he was asked since when he had become a pimp for the looters, rapists and non-Goan builders and politicians, he became very diplomatic and said business is business and since Goa is a part of India, no one can stop any Indian from buying property and conducting business in any part of the country, and that Niz Goenkar should support the development of Goa.
We tried to trap him, but couldn’t since he is a slimy character and had been in and out of the game of pimping for the illiterate-goonda politicians and non-Goan builders for donkey’s years now. He is also very famous for releasing full page advertisements for most of the politicians to wish them ‘Happy Birthday’.
Unfortunately we could not tape the conversation. When he realised that we were not after money and we are serious about our goal, he started singing a different tune. He suggested that some of our leaders in Goa should join some established political party and tried to discourage us by saying that no new movement stand a chance to grow in Goa when there are well established political leaders and national parties who are flush with money and can win all elections with the help of their money and muscle power.
He then gave us a veiled threat by saying that Niz Goenkar’s unity won’t last long and it would collapse just like the Goa Bachao Abhiyan.
But as I have said earlier, we missed a very big opportunity to trap and expose him as we were not prepared for the meeting. We met him as a well-wisher of Niz Goenkar but it proved that he was trying to buy us out; if not to split the unity of our five founding members.
Imagine guys, if the pimps of the illiterate-goonda politicians and agents of the mega development project can offer one crore to each founding members of Niz Goenkars just to silence them, how much money are these corrupt politicians and their lackeys are making in Goa. No wonder Goa is going to the dogs. The reason is we have among our own Goans who are ready to do anything for the sake of money.
Although, we missed an opportunity to trap this pimp this time, we will certainly nail him with enough proof and expose him here.  As such, it is all the more reasons, my dear Goan brothers and sisters to unite and vote out the corrupt politicians of Goa.
Support Niz Goenkar. Be a member of Niz Goenkar today and save Goa for your next generation. Viva Goa, Goa for Goans, Long Live Goan Unity.

DEMOLITION OF THE HOUSES FOR ROAD WIDENING CANCELLED

MARGAO: The Deputy Speaker and Cortalim MLA, Mr Mauvin Godinho, said that no houses would be allowed to be demolished for road widening. Speaking at a function held in Margao, on Monday, Mr Godinho said, “We are not against the national highways. But we want the interest of the people of Goa to be protected,” and added that no houses should be demolished for any reason.
He further said that he represented Cortalim constituency and he has been promised a Rs 100 crore flyover that would ensure that no houses would be demolished. “In case houses are to be demolished then the width (of road) can be reduced from 45 to 35 mts. And if that is not possible then flyovers should be built,” he felt also pointing out that elevated roads – or roads at different levels can be constructed.
He said that they had a meeting in Panaji at the Chief Minister’s bungalow with NHAI officials, at which were present the Chief Minister himself, the PWD Minister, other ministers and MLAs, who are connected to the villages along the roads. The Deputy Speaker said this meeting would be followed up with a meeting with the Union Minister, Mr Kamal Nath on Tuesday, where all these arguments would be put forth.
According to officials of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and PWD, a resurvey conducted has brought down the number of constructions to be demolished to 168; initially the survey put down the number of structures likely to be affected for the expansion of NH-4A from Anmod to Panaji to 569. As per re-survey, width of the NH-4A will be 35 mts-60 meters as against earlier 45mts-60 meters; length has been cut down – earlier 69.070 km of road was planned to be constructed but it has been now reduced to 65.070 km. Considering the views of people that expansion will inconvenience them in commuting short distances or travelling to a village on other side of the road – crossing and openings at every two kilometers of national highway have been planned. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF NIZ GOENKAR by Bebdo

Many of you who are reading Niz Goenkar must have been wondering who we are and what our goal is. Some of you must be saying that we are just rabble-rousers of nuisance value and would make no difference to the political scene in Goa which is reeling from corruption, nepotism, sycophancy and mismanagement. Some of you may also say that groups like us had mushroomed in the past and then just like the mushrooms, disappeared with the end of the monsoon season.
My dear readers, Niz Goenkars will prove you wrong. We are not like the rainbow or like the mushroom and we are not chasing a mirage. We are Niz Goenkars who have dedicated our lives to clean the morass that Goa is in due to the ill-effects of our uneducated and corrupt politicians.
Who are the members of Niz Goenkars? We have among us eminent persons who have excelled in their chosen profession who are Goans but have settled or are working in all parts of the world. We have among us even former CFOs of multi-national financial institutions, and very few Goans have reached that position in Wall Street, but yes they are with us.
We have among us eminent scientists, some of whom are IITians and are working with MIT, NASA and Silicon Valley.
We have among us eminent scholars and researchers some of whom are professors in American and British universities.
We have among us some brilliant writers and authors whose work has been acclaimed in many parts of the world.
We have among us some renowned chefs who have passed out from hotel institutes in Lusanne, Switzerland.
And we have among us some of the best doctors and lawyers Goa has produced in the present generation, some of whom are even working in Dubai in well-established hospitals.
We have among us Goans who are also working as security guards, clerks, those working in the hotel industry, in supermarkets, as loaders at airports, systems engineers and computer technicians.
We also have mechanics and tool-pushers working on rigs. And we also have home-makers who spent their precious time to work for the cause of Goa and Goans.
Finally, we have all the Goans in Goa who are our spearheads in our struggle against the corrupt, illiterate and goondas who rule Goa. Least I forget, we have even a few priests who are working for our cause. (Fathers, I bow to you’ll for despite pressure from your superiors, you’ll are still with us).
Now many of you will say, why Niz Goenkar was formed and what would be its political role in the future of Goa.
Niz Goenkar was formed with the agenda: Goa for Goans and Special Status for Goa where no non-Goan would be allowed to own property and conduct businesses.
I don’t want to go through the basics of how Goa is being destroyed, looted and raped by non-Goans, for a price, in connivance with our so called Goan leaders. Our so-called Goan leaders will even sell their wives and daughters for a right price to these non-Goans. You all know it and I don’t have to extrapolate on it.
The destruction of Goa and the marginalisation of Goans started right from ‘liberation’ of Goa in 1961. From 1961 to 1965 about 50,000 well-educated Goans left Goa in disgust because they were treated like second-class citizens by the Indian military administration in Goa.
A party called the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party was formed solely for the purpose of merging Goa with Maharashtra and so as to change forever the culture, heritage and demography of Goa.
The MGP never worked for the welfare of Goans and it was during the rule of the MGP that the first influx of non-Goans came to Goa. The non-Goans were brought in the thousands as teachers, nurses, doctors, lawyers and office workers. The historic opinion poll saved Goa, but did not save Goa from the influx of non-Goans into Goa. As per the latest census, 35 per cent of Goa’s population comprise non-Goans.
The Congress party which is still in power in Goa too has never worked for the welfare of Goa. That is because the High Command which is in Delhi decides what is good and bad for Goa.
If the High Command tells our illiterate Congress politicians to stand, they stand, if they tell them to sit, they sit. No wonder, you will now see most of the construction firms that are building huge projects are owned by scions of Congress leaders from North India. Even a Haryana chief minister’s son has built a farmhouse in Goa.
I don’t want to go into the BJP much because the BJP is termed as a communal party due to its ideology, and they too have to consult their High Command in Delhi and Nagpur for taking decisions about Goa.
It is precisely because of all the above reasons, Goa needs Niz Goenkars. Goa needs Niz Goenkars to protect and save Goa from being robbed, looted, raped and Goans being forced out of their houses by non-Goans.
We need need Niz Goenkar to stop the corruption which has permeated even to the grass-roots level right to the villages.
We need Niz Goenkars because we need to protect our unique culture, heritage and language.
We need Niz Goenkar because we need to protect our identity as Goans.
We need Niz Goenkar because we need to preserve our Goan secularism which embraces all Goan Hindus, Christians and Muslims as one part of the same family.
We need your support and I am pretty sure you are all with us. Our struggle will be long. We may not be able to achieve our goal in a year, two or three. It is easy to win small battles, but to win a war one requires a long-term-strategy.
We are working on our long-term strategy and we have full faith in all our Goan brothers and sisters who will turn themselves into the soldiers of our movement. Convey the message of Niz Goenkar to one and all. Be a Niz Goenkar and together we will march ahead to a new and prosperous Goa, a Goa free from all evils of corruption and mismanagement. Hail the Goan revolutionaries.
Viva Goa, Viva Niz Goenkar, Goa for Goans.
