PANJIM: The Corporation of City of Panjim polls from Ward No 30 at Ribandar will be keenly observed by many. Ward No 30 is witnessing a 4 cornered contest with Adv. Aires Rodrigues having thrown his hat in the ring. Two sitting Corporators Mrs. Vivina Nasnodkar and Mr. Rupesh Harlankar along with a BJP rebel candidate Mr. Shyamsunder Kamat are also in the fray.
Mr. Harlankar is the sitting Corporator from ward No 29 and has moved to Ward No 30 after his ward was reserved for OBC.
Ward No 30 comprising of 1623 voters has the largest number of voters. The Ward has also never re-elected a sitting corportaor. It is also the only ward where this time two sitting Corporators are now seeking re-election.
Police patrolling in the ward has been intensified by the Old Goa Police after complaints of violations of Code of Conduct by a government employee Mr. Michael Fernandes husband of sitting corporator Mrs. Vivina Nasnodkar who is seeking re-election.
According to the residents of the ward and people of Ribandar, it is a guaranteed victory for Adv. Aires. And as he get elected, we hope that he will be different from the others and keep fighting for Goan causes. Let us wish him success.
