HEM AMCHEM GOEM by Joel Morais, Cuncolim

I am very much proud to be goemkar but when it comes to law and order in Goa, I really feel very much ashamed. Our Constitution do says that Equally we stand as far as law is concerned but in practical,Laws differ from person to person. With regard to the CRZ regulations our Digamber Kamat government bypassed the same by successfully passing a bill to save Cidade de Goa.
Police in Goa always turned out to be remote controlled dolls by the politicians in Power. They are been known to the world for their worse deeds. The law protectors are in the news for killing a sailor, Cypriano and the concerned khaki murderers are still not arrested. Would it had been same if I was a suspect in a similar case? During the Portuguese Regime the full the village was controlled by 2 cabs(policemen)when required but in liberated Goa, drug peddlers like Atala after committing serious crimes just run away and left the country and the Home ministry looks to be least bothered.
Goa, the Paradise on Earth which was once known for her Peace loving people all around the world is losing her name at a very rapid pace for all kinds of Crimes. The place has become a Transit area for Drugs. Police themselves have been caught for selling drugs from their own Godowns. About 10 years ago the one time Green state of Goa which was hardly known for a murder in a year is now very well known to the world not just for murders of humans but also for so called the murder of law. The former Tourism minister himself passed a message to world calling Goa a Rape Capital. What is the recent suspension of a decent judge forces us to think with regard to the law in Goa?
Niz Goenkars going for Portuguese passports have to surrender all their rights including the voting right but numerous Indian migrants in Goa are proved to have dual voting rights. Laws in Goa are much more easy for Migrants but life is for niz goemkars.
Goemchea Siaba!Have mercy on us!

  1. Yes , we only have to pray to GOD to help us. when I see the pictures of Japan tsunami, I cry and asks God's mercy as inocent people lost their life. I pray to GOD to bring a mild tremor at porvorim and kill all the 40 thieves, so that the future politicians rule Goa honestly.

  2. Tremors are not the answer to our misery, these thieves will survive and we will suffer.

Independence and to get rid of the Indians is the only solution to our sorrow.

Invader Indians have brought corruption to GOA: If we throw the Indians out, corruption will follow them.

Well done Joel your article says it all. Our politicians have destroyed our paradise made our lives miserable and thrown Goa to the dogs.

  4. Beautiful article by Joel. Very well intrepreted scenario about Goa's destruction. I like your statement about Police in Goa always turned out to be remote controlled dolls by the politicians in Power. True. And they are the waste bags of the State. The photo of the Big Chef is wonderful.

  6. The first and most foremost issue is We Goans would rather sit at taverns and bars then fight each other after a few drinks. Unless we unite will not be able to achieve much, the trend of voting the same old corrupt politicians has to be stopped mainly by the crumb eaters. Then only we can start the process of saving Goa, even gain special status. Can we do it?

  7. Good food for thought in a short but articulate expression. In the history of Goa after liberation, this is the worst government, the worst CM. People may condemn Parrikar but the present ministry were all part of Parrikar government and makes no difference whether BJP or Congress is ruling us. Both are the same with different brands.

Looking at the picture it certainly looks like "Hem Amchem Goem" more like "Ghanti Land" created by our Politicians aided by these Ghanti vote banks.

Our politicians are more interested in entertaining Rapists, murderers and drug dealers. The welfare of Goans and Goa is on the bottom of their list. Rather than the politicians and police being accountable to us, Goans have been made accountable to them. What can we do to stop It?

Joel a truly well written article, As much as I would like God to deal with the current politicians, It is up to the Goan Citizens specially those who keep voting the illiterate to Power. The state of affairs Goa is crumbling in front of our eyes while we are doing nothing. I hope articles written by concern citizens like Joel will inspire our youth to stand up and be heard.

  11. Yes we can!

And we will do it in the coming elections. Bring down the riff raff and show them the door. Make them return all they have accumulated in their name and use it to rebuild Goa to its former glory. We have to bring these useless, corrupt imbeciles to their knees. I remember a statment made by one person who was severly affected because of a politician and police officer. His words before he left Goa were " If ever I know I have a disease and I'm not gonna be around for long, I will do the greatest justice to my land and my people i.e. bring down all the politicians and the corrupt police officers". Peoples might and unity has blown out more sinister and dangerous leaders and sent them into hiding, destroyed their lives and set them on the run, so what are these incompetent fools. Come on Goans unit and lets save Goa before it is too late.
