GOVERNOR DECLARES DIGAMBER KAMAT AS DYNAMIC CHIEF MINISTER

MARGAO: Governor S S Sidhu on Sunday described Chief Minister Digambar Kamat as a dynamic Chief Minister and PWD Minister Churchill Alemao as a popular leader and a friend of the common man.  He was speaking after felicitating Kamat and Alemao at a function organized by the Dalit Seva Sanghatana, Goa at the Ravindra Bhavan here on Sunday morning.
Governor said, “In Kamat, you have a dynamic chief minister, who accords top priority for people’s welfare. But, what is significant is that the chief minister in a true spirit of democracy entertains public criticism of policies and programmes so as to take corrective steps. This quality enhances the public prestige of a leader”.
He further said “during my two and half years stay in Goa, I have watched the chief minister function actively for providing maximum benefits of the government schemes to the people. He reaches out to the needy people, who require timely relief”.
In respect of the PWD minister, the Governor said that Alemao is a popular leader and a friend of the common man needs no emphasis.
He is always in the forefront of public cause, which requires special mention. He is an active minister, reaching out to the people requiring his support and assistance in whatever form it may be”.
In addition, the Governor said that Alemao’s contribution in the field of sports, particularly football, is well recognized by the people”.
The governor said that significant steps have been taken by the country since Independence to provide opportunities for the Dalits in the field of education and employment, but added that a lot of ground still needs to be covered for the emancipation of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Saying that the country is committed to build a welfare state, the Governor said India’s success lies in empowering every citizen, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
In his address, the Chief Minister lauded the role played by the Dalit Seva Sanghatana for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden sections of society.
He said that his government will not allow any injustice to the Dhangar community, and expressed his government’s commitment to include the community in the ST community. “I have petitioned to the Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram on the inclusion of Dhangars in the ST community. He has assured to look into the matter”, Kamat said.
In his address, PWD Minister Churchill Alemao said he had distributed the water tanks to the poor considering the hardships faced by them in times of water scarcity.
He also appealed to the Chief Minister to support Konkani in Roman script to save and protect the identity of Goa and Goans.  The Chief Minister later felicitated various personalities for their contribution to their respective fields of activity.

  1. The Don quixote and the Sanches Panja of Goan politic are termed as dynamic and popular leaders by the chamcha Governor. The Governor should refer the dictionary to check the word dynamic. What he can see the dynamism in Kamat as he just appears like a TOAD, without any persoanality. what about the popular leader, he is not a polpular leader he is the most popular chor and liar.

The governor must be blinded to corruption, or a demented person. Yes the chourchil pig of Varca is popular with the common for looting Goa who has fulfilled the wishes of the central Government, against Goan wishes. Digambar is popular four creating slums in Goa as vote banks.

  4. Scorn heaped on these 3 bas**rds would be more welcome. These slimy scumbags of politicians know well to cover each others back. The rest of us are disgusted with the very mention of their names.

  5. The post of President and the Governors should be dissolved and the Constiution re-written. These people are just a useless lot and a liability on the exchequer. They are nothing more than a bunch of bumchums and stooges of the decaying political class.

Don't be upset when you are hearing a Sardar talk. He was taught this essay composition on Winston Churchill during his IAS exams. So he just substitutes the names of persons in every speech. Just like his brother who had learned by heart composition on 'friend'; but was unlucky to have got composition on 'Father' for examination. So he wrote:"I have many fathers. My neighbour is my biggest farther......"

Retired dick-head who's enjoying ball of his lifetime holiday in our beautiful Palace must be getting percentage of loot from Di-Gandu Cowmuth and gang of looters and hence he has obligation to praise him. These dummy Governors comes and go they do not have any job to enjoy retirement benefit, although his tenure is over, one cannot understand why ruling party from Delhi still allowed him to hang around here. Definately, this post must be made redundant once for all.

  9. The chief Minister of Goa is a failure on all fronts.I know he has some qualifications but he is not fit to be or take the position of the CM. He deserves something like toilet attendent, toll keeper etc. There is a saying in konkani "Xikon brut" ,he is one of them. The rest of the leaders are crooks. The Goa Governor does not know their true colours.Does the Goa Governor know the background of PWD minister? .He must read all the Goan newspapers everyday to know thier nature and attitudes.

  10. @Mathew, sorry, the Goan newspapers bring a fraction of what is happening other than praising the Chors Of Goa or else they will loose the revenue from advertisements on the Chor's birthdays and at election time, specially Herald.

Urge the people to read Niz Goenkar to get the feeling of the people and the truth. The bad side of the politicians is hardly reported by the Goan press except Goan Observer who sometimes write sentimentally, according to his feelings and situations.
