CISF PERSONNEL ASSAULTED BY A RUSSIAN AT DABOLIM AIRPORT

VASCO: The Vasco police have arrested a Russian national for assaulting a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, while the latter was discharging his duty at the arrival gate of the international terminal of Dabolim airport on Sunday morning.
According to information provided by the investigating police officer, Mr Prashal Desai, a formal complaint in this regard has been lodged by the CISF inspector, Mr Vivek Jadhav, attached to the Dabolim airport unit.
Mr Jadhav stated that a Russian national, Kuznasur Alexey (31), who had arrived in Goa at Dabolim airport by Transaero Chartered flight at around 9.30 a.m. got into an argument with the CISF personnel at the international arrival terminal.
Mr Jadhav further stated that thereafter, the Russian passenger assaulted Mr K K Zaria, a CISF head constable. The CISF personnel immediately restrained the Russian and took him into custody.
He was later handed over to police out post at Dabolim, which comes under the jurisdiction of Vasco police station. The Vasco police have registered an offence under section 353 of Indian Penal Code, and have arrested the Russian tourist for assaulting a government servant, and for obstructing him while discharging his lawful duty.
The investigating police officer, Mr Desai has disclosed that the Russian tourist was under the influence of alcohol and had assaulted the CISF personnel while in an inebriated state. (NT)

    Not sure who is at fault.Hwever on my visit to Goa I did notice that the CSIF personnell at Dabolim are a little dis-courteous to Tourists.
    Ihope on my next trip...the Porters have been sacked.They are like the Lamanis.These porters demand foreign currency instead of Rupees on arrival and departures.
    To take a suitcase from the Carousel to the main door costs Rs 100/=.
    This service is actually free but not published at the airport.So Tourists are taken for a jolly ride.
    Ir was reported on a News Paper recently a Taxi charged a Tourist Rs 700/= from Dabolim to Bogmalo.
